You’ve got the ham and asparagus cheese rolls done, the alfredo pasta bake and turkey roulade mains done, and now, it’s time for the dessert of parmesan apple crumble. Let’s get cracking!
Parmesan Apple Crumble
Yes, there is more to cheesy desserts than just cheesecake. Take things up a notch with this apple crumble laced with a savoury, parmesan cheese flavour. It’s a combo made in heaven, plus this dessert only takes 30 minutes to create! You have to admit adding cheese to an apple crumble is unusually refreshing as well, and we totally dig it. Ingredients
For crumble:
Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese (50g, plus a handful for topping later)
All purpose flour (300g)
Caster sugar (50g)
Unsalted butter (200g, softened)
Vanilla extract (1 tbsp)
For apple filling:
Apples (500g, peeled and sliced)
Caster sugar (50g)
Nutmeg (1 tbsp)
Cinnamon (2 tbsp)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Mix all purpose flour, sugar (50g), and Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese in a large bowl.
3. After mixing well, add the softened butter and vanilla extract in the same large bowl. Use your hands to combine everything together, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
4. For the apple filling, place sliced apples in another large bowl, and add remaining sugar (50g) in, together with nutmeg and cinnamon. Stir to mix.
5. Spoon the apple filling evenly into the bottom of a baking dish. Add the crumble mixture on top.
6. Sprinkle with a handful of Perfect Italiano Parmesan Grated Cheese.
7. Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, or until crumble is golden in colour.
8. Add a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top of the dessert. Serve immediately.
