The 35-product range carried by Ethnicraft is driven by designers Jan and Lara. In 2012, they initiated the Universo Positivo project together with Philippe Delaisse, founder of Ethnicraft, with the accent on affordable good quality and European made design.
Now in Singapore, examples of Universo Positivo products available include interesting and functional items that draw attention to a space such as the ‘Moon Table’ ($350 for the Small, $715 for the Large) which is a wooden oak disc shaped top clamped between two pieces of metal. The ‘Turtle Table’ ($175, $250 and $415 for Small, Medium and Large sizes respectively) is a vintage inspired, organically shaped table. Additional accessories include the Wattman Lamp made of a wooden socket on a skinny metal frame ($95). Then there’re fun, nostalgic items such as a DIY cardboard-inspired Pencil Holder ($60). Made of solid oak wrapped in powder coated metal, it comes in various fun colours, allowing mix and match.
