Faced with the mind-boggling array of amazing designers at Blueprint, our Managing Editor couldn’t resist picking out some of her fave pieces too. We don’t blame you, Nina.
Editor’s pick: Yuki Mitsuyasu from Singapore
“The absolutely gorgeous Yuki Mitsuyasu stole my heart with her thoughtful artisan jewellery. With her pieces, you don’t just get a work of art but also a story behind every piece. The quail egg ring in particular is a winner: made to bring awareness to the fragility of life and the danger of land mines, those who wear it must be very careful not to break it.”
Editor’s pick: abcense from Taipei
“I just LOVE abcense’s aesthetic. Their shoes are very sculptural and industrial, reminiscent of Camilla Skovgaard but more feminine. And the whole brand experience at the Blueprint booth was pretty hard to resist – the girls looked divine in their matching pale pink outfits, on trend bobby socks and abscense shoes. Not everyone can get away with it but it’s great eye candy!”
Editor’s pick: Úna Burke from London
“It’s no wonder everyone at Blueprint was talking about the leather accessories by Una Burke. The label is such a stand out, with every piece designed and crafted so masterfully. The harnesses walked the line remarkably well between luxury chic and tough biker, resulting in a look that’s just so on trend. I really had to restrain myself not to walk away with the clutch even though an accent piece like this can really make any outfit in my wardrobe. Hmm…maybe it’s not too late to reconsider with Emporium happening all weekend.”
Blueprint Emporium (open to the public), 17 & 18 May 2014, Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre 1 Raffles Boulevard, Suntec City Singapore 039593.
