Designer’s Blueprint Edit

With over 200 local and international emerging designers showcasing at this year’s Blueprint, it is certainly a wet dream for indie label-lovin’ fashionistas everywhere…or possibly a head-spinning affair if you’re the type to get overwhelmed very easily. Luckily, we’ve recruited the help of local designer Jo Soh of hansel to use her keen (and very capable) designer’s eye and select her top picks from the show.

Lead the way, Jo!

She chose: Matter Matters from Hong Kong
“I’m always looking for standout pieces based on the hardest aspect of being a designer: finding that sweet spot between commercialism and innovation.  There’s no point being completely avant garde if you want to have a business and sell your designs to the public. What I love about Matter Matters is that the label is out-of-the-box, yet it’s still very appealing and relatable.”

She chose: FLAT21 from Seoul
“This Korean designer really caught my eye because it’s very wearable. Whether young or old, you can wear pieces from this collection and still look age appropriate. As a designer myself, I appreciate good cuts and good quality –  something that FLAT21 definitely has, along with beautiful Swarovski and other pops of detail.”

Thanks, Jo!
