If you’re in a funk and looking for a way to feel brand new, the Perfect Synergy treatment at Remede Spa in St Regis Singapore is one to try. It is quite frankly out of this world and sets a whole new standard in top to toe pampering.
Two years in the making. Yes, let’s repeat that. Two years in the making, this innovative spa experience sashayed on to the spa menu last week after a long period of incubating, perfecting and perfecting some more. Ta dah!
Conceived to cater to Singapore’s preoccupation with efficiency, this 75-minute bliss out has it all going on. A microdermabrasion facial at the same time as the mother of all pedicures - exclusive to Remede, the Bastien Gonzalez Pedicure, complete with buffing and some kind of magical cuticle treatment that seemed to coax rather than bully. We can vouch for this being a very good use of time. Efficient (why yes!), but we can think of so many more flattering adjectives.
The moment de resistance is the four hands massage where strokes and pressure points are synchronized so you don’t have the feeling of confusion that four hands can sometimes illicit. The reason for this is that opposite sides of the feet and face are massaged at once so that both sides of the brain are stimulated and the energy created by the massage doesn’t overwhelm.
Someone has really thought this through. This is the type of insight and innovation we have come to know, love and expect from the top tier, state-of- the-art ‘spa laboratoire’. No less than a fusion of art and science.
The massage was like a dance between two people who have danced together many times. No-one treading on anyone’s toes, keeping a respectful distance. Looking at each other for cues or perhaps just intuiting each other’s next move. It was poetry in motion, and you wished it would never end – like, ever!
Steam Chamber in the Remede Spa Wet Lounge
Nobody has loved these feet the way they were loved that day. Much less a superb Frenchman called Steve (who will always be Etienne to us). You would do well to request him for your treatment – he has infinite wisdom when it comes to ‘les pieds’ and could not possibly have been feigning interest.
If you’ve been to Remede Spa before, you will know that you are free to use the wet lounge and no treatment is complete until you find yourself back in the waiting room, a la robe, being served tea, (sometimes French champagne) and fine Belgian chocolates, and watching happy, fat goldfish mooching around the dim lit aquarium. You feel you have everything in common with them as you mooch away yourself into the cool, dark corridor, carried as if on air by your newly silken feet.
