The new Tippling Club in Tanjong Pagar is everything Singapore has been missing in the food scene – think the playful, modern gastronomy we have come to know and love, in vibey new digs. Chef-owner Ryan Clift has found the perfect location to continue the evolution of his culinary life work.

If you’re craving a dose of NYC, the ambience in the restaurant will cater superbly – the interior is chic, crisp and totally Tribeca, downtown Manhattan. We felt right at home and, well, just a little bit Sex & the City rolling up to sip and taste, as taste makers do.

The bar is helmed by the one and only (award-winning) Zachary de Git, so it would have been rude not to kick off the night with some of his world-class cocktails. The freshness and roundness of our Friend Of The Night made us want to dance! But do hold off on too many cocktails if you’re having the wine pairing with your meal.

The pairing menu at Tippling Club is one even the most seasoned palate will adore. Foodies will appreciate the extra mile Ryan – and head sommelier Marcus, have gone to in creating the Tippling Club’s own wine (2011), which, we can confer, is extremely successful in complimenting the monkfish.

Our senses were utterly delighted with the quail egg on kombusu, Tippling Club’s interpretation of a Singaporean chicken curry, a translucent basil infused gazpacho, a Styrofoam truffle (yes, Styrofoam), and an astonishingly flavoursome Wagyu beef with sea flowers, to name a few.

We don’t want to give it all away – you need to experience this for yourself!

And this in particular! Coconut water ice cream to refresh your palate – a tropical getaway with each spoonful. Next, an ice cream sandwich you eat without your hands, and a blue wine and chocolate meringue that there are frankly no words to describe.

This is modern dining at its best and Ryan Clift is quite clearly in his element, capitalizing on the Tippling Club’s formidable cache while inventing an entirely fresh concept that is welcoming and accessible.

Word is, you’ll be able to experience the best at an affordable price with their phenomenal new lunch menu, which will also be available between 6-8pm so you’ll never miss out even if you have to skip lunch!
