Nestled in the Ridgewood neighbourhood, Stirling Highway may pose a challenge to poor navigators (thank you google maps) but their piquant pastries, delectable brunch bites, and selection of unique teas, like ice wine and cream earl grey, more than makes up for it!

Retaining their stronghold in North Indian and Thai cuisine, diners can expect a selection of curries, tandoori items, and briyanis, alongside Thai classics like green curry and tom yum soup. Craft beers and ciders are aplenty; take a swig from a bottle of brewdog punk IPA aka beer for rebels, or go with the refreshing little creatures pale ale from down under!

Assembly Coffee 640x480
Assembly Coffee

Assembly Coffee
Housed in Evans Lodge, with Hatched as its neighbour, Assembly Coffee gladly claims to be a member of Singapore’s third wave coffee movement. These folk brew a mean cuppa with beans from Liberty Coffee and Geisha Specialty, and intend to source from Aussie land, aka coffee capital of the world, in the near future. To go with your lattes, we suggesting getting their sandwiches, like pulled pork and smoked salmon, or go sweet with their espresso-infused cinnamon rolls and assorted cakes.

Assembly Coffee, 26 Evans Road, Singapore 259367, p. 6735 5647. Open Tue-Thu 10am-9pm, Fri-Sun 10am-830pm.

Bincho
Joining the mix is Bincho, a 70 year-old traditional coffee house stylishly spruced up by Unlisted Collection. Fronting the store is a seemingly inconspicuous old-school mee pok stall. Venture further in and you’ll discover a modern open-concept yakitori bar, helm by Chef Asai Masashi, and a cocktail bar, with playful Japeritifs concocted by Stefan Ravalli of The Library. Intrigued? We know we are!

Bincho, 78 Moh Guan Terrace, #01-19, Singapore 162078, p. 6438 4567. Open Tue-Fri 6pm-12am, Sat-Sun 12-3pm and 6pm-12am.
