Splendid chow, showers of confetti, and copious amounts of champagne? If that’s not the perfect formula to usher in the New Year, we’ll eat our (party) hats. And the one place we do know that will cater to every whim of you seasoned partygoers is (cue drumroll): Clarke Quay.
Before the party starts, satisfy your tummies and taste buds with a good meal – after all, you can’t drink on an empty stomach! Marrakesh’s 4-course set dinner (a cocktail or a glass of Moscato included) celebrates the New Year with Moroccan gastronomic delights like Roasted Pumpkin & Red Capsicum Soup, Koshaf Lamb Kebab, and Mahablabia (the name made us laugh, but this traditional Middle Eastern pudding dessert is a delish cross between panna cotta and crème brulee).
If you’re prepared to keep going the entire night (on food, we mean), the Pump Room is serving up a scrumptious semi buffet of seafood on ice, a salad bar, and cheese station with a range of hearty mains like Chargrilled Grain-Finished Ribeye and Slow-Roasted Wildfire Spiced Kurobuta Pork Rack.
Now we’ve got those appetites sated, it’s time for the main event at Clarke Quay’s Central Fountain Square. Hosted by Chua Enlai and Class 95FM DJ Jean Danker, the Radio City Live New Year’s Eve Countdown begins at 10pm. Not only will local band Goodfellas be providing the live entertainment, you’ll get to play street games with 987FM DJs Rosalyn Lee and Divian Nair! So make it a point to hop over, mingle with music icons from the 80s, 90s, and today, and count down to the end of 2013!
It might be 2014 past the stroke of midnight, but we know that you know the night is still young. If you’re craving for something sweet (good way to start the new year, no?), have a 2-hour cocktail buffet with your churros at Alegro Churros Bar.
The party continues at Attica, where Daniel Yeo and DJ Stingray will be holding the fort with unbeatable energy levels. Not enough? Head upstairs to Attica Too – the Partyman, DJs Raw & J Cherish will hold you captive on the dance floor and off the hook bass dropping beats.
If life entertainment is more your thing, make a beeline for Aquanova after the ball drops. Featuring their 9-piece resident band A-List and DJ Skang for the night, Aquanova is definitely pulling out all stops. Play peekaboo at Beer Market’s Masquerade Ball. The $35 cover charge includes 2 bottles of beer, a party pack, and a mask – very handy.
