The painfully sleek gadget – launched in celebration of the Danish audio giant’s 90th anniversary – is actually a super intelligent wireless music system that will blow your mind. And, it does that by playing music that matches your mood and preferences.
How? BeoSound Moment memorises your listening patterns and offers your favourite tunes through a new, smart feature called PatternPlay. It cleverly picks your music from your own network-attached collection, your mobile device, or via music streaming service Deezer. There is also the innovative MoodWheel, displayed on the touch screen in the form of a colour wheel to represent emotions. When your finger is close to bull’s eye, you’ll hear tunes from your own collection. Stray away from the centre and the Moment will serve you more unusual, adventurous sounds.
The uber slick design of the two-piece BeoSound Moment isn’t all form and no substance, too. On one side of the detachable, tablet-like controller is a touch-sensitive oak panel (the first of its kind!) gives you basic control of your music like play and volume via the embossed sphere. Flip it over from the charger base and you’ll have the cool aluminum interface (which just looks like a giant iPod Nano) that provides a more comprehensive music control system (i.e the MoodWheel).
