Break out the confetti and pop the bubbly, honeys – the debut issue of Singapore Insider, our very own quarterly print guide to the Lion City, is out island-wide, and we’re super excited to be sharing it with you all!
Perfect timing, don’t you think? Singapore turns 50 this year, and was recently named World’s Top Destination in the Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2015. And in case you don’t know, this is Lonely Planet’s annual collection of the best trends, destinations, and experiences for the year ahead, so it’s pretty darn cool.
Inside the nifty magazine, which has a print run of over 200,000 and available in three different languages (!!), you’ll find the authentic local experience of Singapore, not just the mainstream tourist trails. We’ve curated the best and latest of Singapore, from fabulous hawker food to Southeast Asia’s best shopping spots and dining establishments.
Of course it’s not all about shopping and eating! There are interviews with cool and interesting folks, such as blogger Laila Lu of Rock The Trend, Katong Antique House’s Peter Wee and chef Ryan Clift of Tippling Club, about their favourite neighborhoods, plus handy, essential information about Singapore.
If you already know the city like the back of your hand, Singapore Insider offers lots of ideas on things to do in January, February, and March, so you’ll never get bored in the months ahead. See Singapore at its festive best and usher in the year of the Goat, witness the annual Chingay Parade, catch a lion dance – or eight for good luck, and just meander the streets of Chinatown soaking up the sights, smells, and sounds.
The city’s biggest art event, Singapore Art Week, kicks off in January, and for all music lovers of all persuasions (we won’t judge), there are Broadway musicals, indie music at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival, One Direction’s Singapore debut, and the Singapore International Jazz Festival to rock out to. Take a deep breath people!
Oh, and for those of you who spend more time in front of the computers than out, you’ll also find the wondrous stories in the magazine appearing on our site all through February. Subscribe to our weekly newsletter by entering your email below so you won’t miss out!
