With Bastille Day, aka French National Day, next Monday, here’s how to faire la fête (party) and celebrate the French revolution in style!
1 to 14 Jul – 13 Days of Classic French at Bar-Roque Grill
Shaping up to be the largest Bastille Day celebration in town, Bar-Roque Grill has introduced a flamboyant 13-day French feast. Dig into a special menu of celebrated classics like veal cordon bleu, house-made charcuterie, escargot fricassee, and braised lamb shank provencal, alongside a variety of French cheeses and wines. The crowning point of the two-week celebration is a special dessert guéridon, featuring Chef Stephane’s mother’s homemade apple pie, crepe suzette, and paris-brest, and complimentary provencal pizza pissaladiere starter for diners on 11, 12, and 14 July.
O’ Batignolles
12 July – O’ Batignolles and Le Comptoir Road Party
Go French chic and don your stripes for O’ Batignolles and Le Comptoir’s joint road party. Start off with free flow champagne for $30 at O’ Batignolle (6-8pm), before making your way down to Le Comptoir along Circular Road. That’s where you can groove to French electro disco till 4am and knock back glasses of vino at only $6 a pop. Their signature galettes and crepes will also be served all night long!
12 July – Alliance Francaise de Singapur Bastille Day Celebrations
Trust Singapore’s largest French cultural institution to celebrate France’s biggest day with a bang. Its main AF lobby will transform into a massive party venue and everyone’s invited to join – for free! There will be drinks, snacks, fringe games, and prizes to be won. Kronenbourg 1664 is the official drinks sponsor, so you know you’re in for a good time.
Tanjong Beach Club
13 July – Tanjong Beach Club Bastille Day Party
Are you ready for a fete a la plage? Singapore’s premier sun-kissed playground is holding the party of the hour with amazing guest DJs – JBAG aka Jerry Bouthier and Andrea Gorgerino from French indie electronic label Kitsune. The party kicks off at 2pm, but you can expect to pop the bubbly and dance till dark with your pals.
Balzac Brasserie
13 Jul – Balzac Brasserie & Bar Bastille Day Brunch
Looking to feast the French way this Bastille Day? Balzac Brasserie has got you covered. Start with a quintessentially French dish – an amuse bouche of egg cocotte with crème fraiche and emmental cheese – before indulging in free flow roasted tomato soup, freshly shucked oysters, smoked salmon, and homemade pate of kurobata pork with foie gras. Complete the meal with your choice of classic main course and dessert or French cheese. Brunch is served from 11am to 3pm, and priced at $98++ per pax.
