Last year’s sold-out film festival is back for a second edition, and the film buffs amongst us are so excited to hit the fort again. The focus has always been on bringing the best of award-winning cinema, gourmet food, and fab wines, to audiences – and you can expect nothing less this year, especially with one of the world’s most admired wine brands, Casillero del Diablo, as the title sponsor!
Taking place from 1 to 10 August, Films at the Fort returns with a curated programme of 10 new releases, cult classics, and documentaries. Rush, the exhilarating film based on the golden age of F1 racing, promises to open the festival with a bang, while we’re looking forward to catching 2014 Academy Awards Best Foreign Film - The Great Beauty - and A Touch of Sin, acclaimed director Jia Zhangke’s masterpiece that won Best Screenplay at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival. Previously banned in China, it’s considered one of the most powerful and thought-provoking Chinese films of recent years.
Multi award-winning documentary Last Train Home, about the largest human migration on earth that occurs during the Lunar New Year period in China, is another standout, alongside classics like Pretty Woman, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Point Break. The festival continues to support local productions, and Ilo Ilo, the first Singaporean film to win at Cannes Film Festival, will be screened.

Note that you’re not allowed to bring your own alcohol but a fully stocked bar selling wines from title sponsor Casillero del Diablo, beers, and boutique ciders will be on-site – sweet!
