Today was a real struggle. We scoped 200 designers for the absolute best bargains, just so you’ll know what to take home with you from Blueprint Emporium this weekend.
Boy, did we do ourselves a disfavor. Our shopping list has blown up to immense proportions.
Come Saturday and Sunday (18-19 May 2013), Blueprint Emporium will be open to the public with designer brands selling pieces from their collection at 20-50% off their usual prices. We’re prepared to come early to get what we want!
The gorgeous ladies at Bec & Bridge/ Moss from Mosstories
We’re big fans of Aussie brand Bec & Bridge and spotted them the minute we walked in. Hard not to notice them when they’ve got such stunning brand ambassadors! Their Spring/Summer collection will be going at 20% off this Saturday and we’re looking to snag some signature sexy pieces for our closet.
Ooh la la! The Honore girls (left) are incredibly charming and Priscilla from Ong Shunmugam (right) is rocking a top after our own hearts. It’s from her latest collection!
We also met Axelle, the designer of Honore, a Parisian brand that has made its way to Singapore. Picture easy to wear, Parisian chic clothes – we dub it a more affordable APC.
We moseyed over to Ong Shunmugam’s booth to sneak a peek at her FW13 collection, which is slightly more experimental with bold colours and asymmetrical details. As always, we fell hard for designer Priscilla’s creative vision and her respect for local heritage; famous Singaporean monuments such as the central fire station and the recently defaced Cenotaph inspired the latest collection.
STOLEN, one of our eternal favourites, brought in their Cruise collection for us to peruse (read: lovingly fawn over). We’re really enjoying the pops of mustard and green, but for diehard fans of Stolen’s signature looks, rest assured there’s plenty of neutrals going on. Past seasons stock will be going on sale at up to 50% off on Saturday!
If your style is slightly edgier, you’ll love Fannie Schiavoni, whose fans include Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Katy Perry.
ALY & RACHELLE is a new label currently available online and in Hong Kong. A pair of twins with contrasting personalities inspires their designs. Think light vs dark and yin vs yang. The contrast is noted throughout the collection and we’re loving the natural materials used for each piece (95% of the collection is made of silk), perfect for Singapore weather!
Like those accessories? We hope you’ve got deep pockets – you’ve got plenty to buy this weekend.
Setu, a local brand has on-trend collar necklaces with a twist – these embroidered babies are handsewn before being printed on. You can find Setu at Quintessential and GNOSSEM.
Moss, the designer of Mosstories aimed for neon colours and lighter materials for her SS13 collection. As a trained shoes designer, her accessories are made from leather and crafted through shoemaking techniques. We predict her designs will sell like hotcakes – so head there quick!
Carrie K.’s new collection titled, “A Beautiful Mess” is inspired by wearing the mess instead of cleaning it up. Girl, we’re onboard with that idea! Bold-coloured rings and necklaces mimic paint splatters – but pay special attention to their reversible leather necklace (featured in The Edit here). We caught up with Carolyn herself and are excited to share that their older collections will be on sale this weekend!
Catch our other favourites like Jooix – especially great for Laduree candles and all kinds of bling, as well as Cosset for super soft undies and loungewear. Trust us, you can never overdose on great undies!
Taiwanese label, Chun Ting Liu/ Lalalove London
You can’t miss Lalalove London – the main attraction is a one-shoulder, digitally printed pineapple dress.
And make sure to stop by homegrown label, Fabrix, for versatile and wellmade totes. They’re launching their new artisanal aprons and a line of bags made from old coffee sacks, but what we really want is their ipad cover (also doubles as a clutch) made of paint-splattered wine cork. Major lust!
