The only downside I can think of to the Great Singapore Sale is the attention deficit it causes for the entire month of June. And this means you really have to take more care than usual not to buy things just because they’re on sale! Instead, take the opportunity to refresh all your basics and/or buy one or two big ticket items you’ve been lusting after all year – think handbags and sunnies. Here are my top picks of GSS.
Club21
Club 21’s End of Season Sale started on Monday (in stores and on Club 21 Online), with some of my favourite brands like Stella McCartney, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs and Lanvin with up to 30% off! Best buys for me are Tsumori Chisato printed wrap-around blouse, Stella McCartney faux nappa shopper bag and Balenciaga leather studded bracelets.

INHABIT
You really must visit INHABIT when they’re on sale (but only after I’ve had the chance to clean up in there!) . So many fabulous brands we love to watch and wear like Dion Lee, Sass & Bide, Bassike and Beau Coops are a smidgeon too pricey otherwise. You’ll also find cameos from designers such as local industrial jewellery label, Vice & Vanity. The INHABIT Epic sale is offering storewide markdowns up to 60% from now till 29th June.
Tip: Like them on Facebook – you’re likely to get an extra 10% off everything on sale preview days if you’re a fan.

TriBeCa
Another must-shop during the sale period is TriBeCa. With loads of favourites like Haute Hippie, J Brand, IRO, and Winter Kate, you need to pick discerningly through the over-stacked racks. At times they have a smattering of fab Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler homewares to admire as well. GSS promotions run in store until 27 July.

I’ve taken a renewed shine to Alice & Olivia lately – mostly through my obsession with a pair of black peep toe boots they didn’t have in my size. Hard. To. Get. Over. A well-established global brand that started life in New York’s Meatpacking District, it set up shop in ION Orchard earlier this year. Expect contemporary, practical yet quirky and well cut items. The tactile experience of visiting the store is good but I would definitely recommend buying online. Right now there’s 50-70% off a range of items including dresses, tops, jackets, pants, shoes and accessories.

Orchard Road’s latest fashion mall Orchardgateway is taking a fresh approach to GSS with a permanent 60-metre lit runway and 8 fashion showcases from their edgy, eclectic fashion tenants like Elle Homme, i.t and Jacob by Sunny Ang. Local style icon Linda Hao – who recently took the mantle of a Marc by Marc Jacobs girl – will be spinning tunes at the showcases on June 14, 15, 21 and 22. This is a great chance to up your style ante and make the most of mall-wide promotions including $100,000 worth of vouchers up for grabs. Worth a look.

Asiatique
Asiatique Collections at Dempsey Hill is a furniture and home accessories boutique that honestly never goes on sale like this, which is why it’s worth a mention. Until end of June, get up to 50% off contemporary Asian and European designed pieces that are truly beautiful and artisanal.
