When we think Saturday we think minimal with a dash of flair and the label’s presentation at day two of Audi Fashion Festival shone in its typical understated way.
Designer Nic Wong is known for his clean lines and individual details. The 2014 Fall/Winter collection was nothing short of the standard we have become accustomed to from Nic. The collection is well suited to the girl who wants to be effortlessly fashionable on the weekend or corporate ready for work. Each garment had an element of surprise - a cute a frill, a bare back or a plunging neck line.
Since its 2009 debut, Saturday is no stranger to the Audi Fashion Festival. This year’s display was another wearable and functional collection, the type Saturday is celebrated for. The models stomped down the runway in classic grey basics, corporate style pin-stripes, black silhouettes and a series of tin like metallics.
The models also carried Singapore humidity tousled hair which worked perfectly with the signature loose-fitting shapes.
The muted colour palette and good mix of separates mean the garments in this collection can be used interchangeably with other pieces in the collection as well as your existing wardrobe. Always a plus! Perhaps with the exception of the metallic items there are several Friday work outfits which could easily move from the office to a fun night of drinks. Who doesn’t love adaptable items ready to wear as they are or styled with your favourite shoes & jewellery?
Just when we thought the entire collection would be low-key, the palette was broken with a splash of shiny ruby red (top image) – some pieces for the more adventurous fashionistas amongst us.
This local label continues to cement its name in the Singaporean fashion scene for versatile womenswear to suit the masses.
