If you’re down South in Bali, take yourself off to Finn’s Beach Club, which is open daily from 10am till 11pm. It is a quick and spectacular ride down the cliff face on the inclinator from Semara Luxury Villa Resort to a vibey beachside club which, if not for the prevalence of bikini tops, you could swear was somewhere on the Med.
Choose from the all day dining menu, which includes all the holiday favourites. We particularly enjoyed the char-grilled lobster with garlic butter and crispy thin wood-fired pizzas. For evening, choose from a range of tapas plates – we loved the marinated olives and chased them down with a spaghetti marinara so fresh it was almost jumping back from where it came.
The massage bale is built high into the cliff. High enough to feel the sea breeze – the sound of the waves loud enough to drown the squeals of children running away from them. And beneath it all, the cool beats from DJs Andre or Kimi (on Saturday and Sunday afternoons) spinning remixes of Lou Reed, Chris Isaac & Daft Punk.
It’s a cosmopolitan day club, attracting holidaymakers from surrounding resorts and villas. Some come for the tunes, massage, great food and cocktails. Others come for the water sport - snorkelling, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding, which are included in the cost of a day pass.
If you’re staying at Semara, you will have complementary passes to enjoy Finn’s. Otherwise, for Rp 250,000 nett you can get a day pass, which includes your return inclinator ride and a Rp 150,000 net Food & Beverage credit. Entrance is free after 6pm and there is a complimentary pick up and drop off service from Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Uluwatu areas after 530pm. Children aged 12 and under access the club free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
