Not Just White Noise

If you were bummed out thinking that Disclosure were only playing Tokyo and Jakarta for their Asian tour, and on the verge of booking a flight to catch them, hold it honeys! Zouk has just announced that the talented British electronic duo (who are brothers) will be hitting our shores on 17 May.

It’s been less than a year since their debut album ‘Settle’, but Guy and Howard Lawrence burst onto the electronic music scene and quickly won over a fair share of fans (including yours truly). Pitchfork has even awarded them ‘Best New Music’ of 2013 and gave ‘Settle’ a spankin’ 9.1 score, now that’s impressive.

Officially a chart topping, festival headlining act, with four Brit Award nominations under their belt, Disclosure will be making their debut in Singapore come 17 May!

You can expect these brothers to rock Zouk with their amazing live vocals, drumming, bass, and beats mixing. FYI, they aren’t your button pushing, switch flicking David Guetta, but a bit more hands on. We hope to see a slew of hits like ‘Latch’, ‘White Noise’, ‘Help Me Lose My Mind’, ‘Defeated No More’, and hopefully our personal favourite – ‘F for You’. It means ‘Fool for You’, in case you were wondering.

But if you’ve never heard of them before, here are three of our favourite Disclosure live performances to get you started.

Kick off your Disclosure initiation with their set at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. You can always count on Pitchfork to pick out the gems, and we were nothing short of blown away!

Did you know that they have also collaborated with Lorde? During this year’s Brit Awards Lorde, Disclosure, and AlunaGeorge proved that age is just a number and performed one heck of a mash up of Lorde’s ‘Royals’ and Disclosure’s ‘White Noise’ (with AlunaGeorge on vocals).

And then they took on the world’s leading underground music show – Boiler Room. We’ll leave you with 35 minutes of glorious electro for all your plugged-in listening needs.

Zouk has yet to release ticketing details.  In the mean time, we’ll be staying tuned to their Facebook page and you should too!
