If you’re like us and get all your news from Facebook these days, first can we say, shame on you. And second, let us help by getting you ready for those weekend dinner party conversations with our very own scoop of news from the week that you can digest in 5 minutes flat.
- The Big Apple just got its first 24-hour Cupcake ATM by Sprinkles, which has already outfitted LA, Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas with these gems. Now, this is something Singapore definitely needs.
- The search for MH370 continues, with satellite imagery showing more than 122 possible objects floating in the southern Indian Ocean. In the meantime, the family members of Chinese nationals on the airliner marched on the Malaysian embassy in anger.
- Remember the zoo that put down Marius the healthy giraffe despite other zoos offering to take him in? Well, Copenhagen Zoo has done it again. This time, they euthanized 4 healthy lions to make way for a new lion, in a bid to prevent inbreeding. More than 147, 000 people have signed a petition to close down the zoo and rehome the existing animals.
- It’s really sad to hear that Gwenyth Paltrow and Chris Martin are going through “conscious uncoupling” – which really means they’re separating – after 10 years of marriage (how many Hollywood couples actually make that milestone?). But we’re also wondering how a Coldplay breakup album will sound.
- Sometimes we just can’t keep up with Kimye. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are making waves again – Vogue fans are all fired up that the magazine featured the duo on their April cover, there’s even a #boycott hashtag going around. Well, at least we got more than a few funny spoofs out of it.
- If you’re still in line to check out Singapore’s very first cat café, Neko no Niwa, we’ve got great news! There’s going to be another cat café opening in Singapore in Bugis Village – they’re still raising funds for renovations and vaccinations fees at the moment, so join their crowd funding campaign for more feline action.
- We’re really proud of Changi Airport – it’s been voted the World’s Best Airport of 2014! And got no mention in the list of world’s rudest cities – yay!
