Hold on to your hats, ladies and gents: Audi Fashion Festival Singapore is back for the sixth year running and boy, does it promise to be one helluva A-list event filled with glitz, glamour, and gorgeous peeps.
Opening this year’s festival is Singapore-born, Nepalese-American designer Prabal Gurung, who’ll be presenting his Fall 2014 collection. With his luxuriously edgy, yet incredibly wearable designs, the rising fashion star is a hit with leading ladies such as Michelle Obama and The Duchess of Cambridge – proving that his show is the red-hot event every fashionista will be fighting tooth and (well-manicured) nail to attend.
Adding major wattage to the star-studded event is a line-up of the biggest names in fashion like Asian male supermodel Godfrey Gao (cue screams) and Hollywood actress Kate Botsworth – the ambassadors of AFF’s official skincare SK-II. Also in attendance are the CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Steven Kolb and style blogger Aimee Song of Song of Style fame.
As Asia’s premier fashion extravaganza, you betcha that AFF’s line-up of local and regional names is nothing short of stellar. Bearing the flag for Singapore are Ashley Isham, Hansel by Jo Soh, Ong Shunmugam, Saturday by Nic Wong, and Exhibit. From across the Causeway, renowned Malaysian fashion designer Farah Khan will be making her Singapore debut with her Fall/Winter 2014 collection, as well as Paris-based designer Jonathan Liang.
To cap things off with an all-mighty bang, AFF will close with a legendary designer who definitely needs no introduction – Mr. Fashion Royalty himself, Oscar de la Renta: a CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award winner, designer to the stars, and a name synonymous with red-carpet glamour – need we go on?
