Calling all jazz lovers; your quest for TGIF grooves ends here. Jazz by the Beach is back at Coastes, every Friday in March 2014. A stellar line-up of local jazz talents will have you shimmying away to their infectious repertoire of classic and modern tunes.
This now bi-annual event promises the perfect formula for a chill-out evening by the beach – think soothing live music, drool-worthy food, wallet-friendly Heineken promos, and soft sand between your toes.
So mark your calendars – Jazz by the Beach kicks off with keyboardist and singer Stephen Francis accompanied by power packed quartet featuring Rob Collins on Friday 7 March; while one of Singapore’s hottest Jazz bands, ChromaZone, will have you working your moves to catchy beats on 14 March.
21 March will see one of Singapore’s most prolific drummers, Jimmy Lee, leading Chronicles 5, a music project with bassist-vocalist Kesavan ‘Casey’ Subramaniam, guitarist Sebastian Ho, keyboardist Nicholas Lim, and vocal powerhouse Lily Anna Nuris. The finale on 28 March will feature The Steve McQueens (aka masters of neovintage soul) jamming jazz-infused neo-soulfunk and killer improvised riffs.
