La Cuisson
La Cuisson is shaking off the label of fancy hawker fare with its new move to vibey new digs at Prinsep (previously housed in a Holland Village coffee shop). You can look forward to wallet-friendly French dishes and modern European fare, and a rustic atmosphere. Looking to grab brunch with your girlfriends? You’ll be glad to know that La Cuisson now serves hearty brunch options on weekends (till 2pm).

Ribbery & Wine Co
Carnivores, look no further than Ribbery & Wine Co for Singapore’s largest selections of ribs – over 12 types of beef, pork, and lamb ribs! Also known as RAWC (pronounced ‘rock’), this rib house is the new kid on the block along Bukit Timah’s Sixth Avenue stretch. Choose to dig into your ribs, like BBQ ribs, cajun rubs, marmite ribs, and shiraz braised short ribs, al-fresco style, or head up to the dining space on the second floor. Gaest
Serving up a dose of Nordic nosh on our little red dot, Gaest is a casual, minimalist-décor café right in the heart of Tanjong Pagar (opposite Amoy Food Centre). Ideal for a leisurely lunch, CBD folks can expect a selection of sandwiches, served on homemade sourdough bread, salads, and specialty teas. Their chicken sandwich – a combination of roasted chicken breast, lemon marinated celery, green apples, pea tendrils, and fresh herb cream – surprises and delights at once!

OZ Specialty Coffee
Coffee, design, and art are interlaced in boutique café OZ Specialty Coffee’s culture. Visitors can admire a showcase of artworks by aspiring young artists, browse specialty coffee beans and equipment for sale, as well as relishing a cup of Roadster home blend (collaboration with Pacamara boutique coffee roasters in Bangkok, Thailand). Famished? OZ also serves up all day breakfast, sandwiches, and Belgian liege waffles.

Shisen Hanten
Helm by Chef Kentaro, born into a family with three generations of celebrity chefs, Shisen Hanten Singapore is the famed chain’s debut outside of Japan. Regarded as one of the most sophisticated cooking styles, savour a presentation of Sichuan cuisine’s seven delicate flavours – sour, pungent, hot, sweet, bitter, aromatic, and salty. Don’t forget to order up signatures like Chen’s mapo tofu, Chen’s original spicy noodle soup, and stewed fish in spicy Szechuan chilli pepper.

Carpenter and Cook Jr
Easties and North dwellers collectively rejoiced when beloved Carpenter and Cook opened their highly-awaited takeaway space at Thomson. Folks can now get their hands on Carpenter and Cook’s delish homemade pastries and jams, and sip on a cuppa or craft beer, without crossing the island to (seemingly far flung) Lorong Kilat. Carpenter and Cook Jr, follows in the footstep of its sister café, exuding a vintage-inspired aura with mismatched furniture, antique beauties for decor, and use of vintage crockery.

Westin Singapore’s new gastrobar (located on the 33rd floor) aims to offer a (much-appreciated) mix of good bites and good brews, reasonably priced. Whether you’re looking to share over small plates, or go big with pastas, roast meats, and seafood, Cook & Brew has got you covered. Chase it all down with their $11 tap beers or signature cocktails like the chocolate indulgence, concocted with vanilla vodka, chocolate liqueur, Hershey’s syrup and milk, yum!

Oriental palates can head to TAO Seafood Asia to get their appetite sated. P. Bistro
Opened by a Cordon-Bleu trained missus and her hubby, P.Bistro is an unassuming little bistro serving up simple fare and piquant pastries, at reasonable prices. Just a stone’s throw away from Café L’Etoile, Owen Road sure is shaping up into a cosy gourmet neighbourhood. Tuck into comfort grub like spaghetti carbonara, roast chicken with mushroom sauce, and cheeseburgers, but make sure to save space for dessert! Besides a selection of tarts, cheesecakes, and danishes, freshly baked bite-size goodies like macarons and sables are also available for dine in and takeaway.
