Are you ready to escape the madness of the concrete jungle and commune with 10.5 km of lush, unspoilt nature that most people in Singapore don’t know exists? Well, you got what you wished for – put on your running shoes and gear up for The Green Corridor Run, happening right here in Singapore.
Back for the second consecutive year, this race was the first of its kind to be held along the rail corridor, Singapore’s equivalent of New York’s High Line and the Promenade Plantee in Paris – all three having successfully converted old rail lines into eco-friendly community spaces. Once home to the Orient Express and the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) rail line that connected Singapore to the rest of Asia, the area is now an uninterrupted stretch of woodlands and greenery, winding right through the heart of the city.
Whether you’re a competitive runner or simply an eco-loving city dweller, The Green Corridor Run is your chance to explore and revel in the beauty of a side of Singapore you probably didn’t know existed! The starting pistol will be fired at the historic Tanjong Pagar Rail Station, and race participants will follow the scenic route heading north, finishing at the old Bukit Timah Rail Station. The organisers have thought of everything, from drinks to baggage and shuttle buses, so all you need to do is enjoy the scenery as your run.
The Green Corridor Run is one event not to be missed this year (last year’s edition was completely sold out), so book your spot now while you still can, experience a different side of Singapore and get fit while having fun! Just remember, you heard it here first.
