Champagne brunches – with presents too!
For mums who appreciate the lighter things in life (like bubbles), try a Sunday champagne brunch instead of a fancy dinner.
Over at the always stunning Equinox Restaurant, mums can enjoy free-flow bubbles alongside prime roasts, fresh seafood, mains, and desserts. Order up a storm at the ‘live’ stations, and send the kids over to the DIY corner where they can work on decorating their own cupcakes for mum. All mothers also receive a stalk of rose and a photo from the Champagne Brunch to take home.

Take a trip out to Sentosa and spend the arvo at The Knolls, where Mums can feast on traditional, time-honoured French dishes made from family recipes of new Executive Chef David Senia. You’ll even get to re-create the dishes with take-home recipes.

This one’s for the fromage lovers. With over 50 types of cheese, sushi, sashimi, seafood, and prime meats, we have a soft spot for Greenhouse’s Vintage Champagne Sunday Brunch. Kids get to decorate heart-shaped macarons for mums while a two-piece live band will add to the festivities.

Haven’t visited Edge at Pan Pacific yet? Kickstart a lazy Sunday afternoon with with brunch highlights like a ‘live’ Foie Gras station, Home Cured Norwegian Salmon, Wagyu Beef, Oysters, Alaskan King Crabs, and Japanese Scallops. Free flow bubbles to keep the fam happy.

Fullerton’s Town Restaurant is all about a lavish international buffet spread accompanied by free flow champagne. Waffles and pancakes, tempura and chicken teriyaki, seasonal oysters and snow crabs, roast meats and glazed salmon await your hungry mum.

Brunches – sans booze
Violet Oon’s Kitchen’s serving up some Nyona fare for mum with their first ever la carte buffet. There will be Kueh Pie Tee, Ngoh Hiang, Buah Keluak Ayam (a must!), Penang Kerabu Kay, Kacang Botol Salad, Chap Chye, Beef Rendang, Kerabu Mango Fish, Dry Laksa, and Chicken Pong Tay. And that’s only the Nyona side of things! There’s also Shepherd’s Pie, Pulled Beef Ragu Rigatoni, Prawn Quesadilla, Chinese Chicken Salad, and new to menu Chilli Crab Pizza. Plenty of traditional kueh to be had post-savoury feast too.

Mum who love their dim sum will appreciate The Fullerton Hotel’s Jade. Dim Sum Brunch comprises more than 50 exquisite creations like Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, Abalone Siew Mai, Braised Bird’s Nest with Truffle Egg White in Superior Broth, and Boiled Congee with Lobster and Dried Scallops.

It’s all about seafood at Barnacles, from freshly-shucked French oysters to Alaskan king crab legs and grilled meats alongside a French cheese platter at this garden party by the sea. Every table of 4 paying adults enjoys a complimentary bottle of Taittinger champagne. Kids also get to decorate cookies for mums.

Mother’s Day Dinners
Go Japanese at Mikuni with a 7-course Kaiseki Dinner. Every order of Kaiseki Dinner Menu includes a shot of non-alcoholic Ama Sake and complimentary 4-piece Rejuvenation Set from Origins (worth $167) for Mums.

For something not quite Japanese – and not quite Italian either – head to Caffe B, which serves up quality Italian fare with an Asian ethos. Sounds strange, but it’s actually really good. Highlights include Pappardelle Pasta with Wagyu Bolognese Ragù flecked with slivers of 24-month Seasoned Parmesan Cheese, Salmon Fillet with Teriyaki Sauce accentuated by the subtle sweetness of Caramelized Shallots and White Asparagus, and Australian Strip Loin “Tagliata” Style with Rosemary Oil, on a bed of Baby Spinach accompanied by Crunchy Potato Cake.

Mums dine for free at Jade! The nourishing six-course set meal includes Double-boiled Abalone, Fish Maw, Dried Scallop and Winter Melon in Superior Chicken Consommé, Oven-Baked Honey Glazed Cod Fish Fillet with Mayonnaise Pickled Cabbage, Stewed Homemade Tofu with Angel Gourd, Crab Meat and Truffle Egg White and Simmered Egg Noodle with Scallop and Shimeiji Mushroom in Spring Onion and Ginger.

Or go old-school at Gordon’s Grill (Goodwood Park Hotel). The six-course set dinner Cold capellini pasta with langoustine, farm caviar and white truffle vinaigrette, Braised U.S. beef short rib and fillet with caper-raisin purée and root vegetables, and Alaska crabmeat salad with citrus fruit, avocado and white peach sorbet. Disclaimer: one dish on the menu includes shark’s fin. Team Honeycombers has a clear stand on the use of shark’s fin – we’re not for it.
