Cupcakes with Love
Ditch the sweet stuff and embrace the wholesome bakes from Cupcakes with Love (they aim to use less sugar in their cakes without scrimping on flavour). We’re particularly fond of their approach to using less frosting (that means less sugar) so it’s all about the cake! Scoot down to their dedicated cupcake café to enjoy a (less) sweet treat.

Twelve Cupcakes
Moist cupcakes that are not too sweet but incredibly fluffy (not to mention the cute pink take-away packaging) are the signature style of Twelve Cupcakes. Coffee lovers will enjoy the Espresso Cream, a super smooth coffee frosting on a chocolate base, whilst chocoholics can chow down on the Choc on Choc. One word – heaven!

Baked by Lace
Dedicated to making the best cupcakes around is Lace Zhang, the cupcake whiz behind Baked by Lace. What’s not to love about the light-as-air, all natural, lasts up to 3 days at room temperature cupcakes? Not much. Your hardest decision will be choosing a flavour. Words of wisdom: the salted caramel is divine.

Cupcake Engineer
Focusing on flavour and functionality (you won’t find any pretty sprinkles or over-the-top decorations around here) and using only the freshest ingredients, we are particularly smitten with the toppings on these cupcakes. Tangy lemon curd, smooth chocolate ganache… really, who can resist?

Plain Vanilla
Plain Vanilla
A serious contender for the top gong, Plain Vanilla serves some of the best Red Velvet and Cinnamon Brown Sugar cupcakes. We love that their frosting packs a flavoursome punch while the cupcakes remain light and fluffy.

Marmalade Pantry
Well-known for their delectable desserts, Marmalade Pantry’s (not so) well-kept secret is that they also churn out the cupcakes too. Offering a range of sweet treats from Limonata to Granny’s Apple to Elvis (that’s choc banana meets peanut butter), it’s hard to resist these fresh bakes. Fans of frosting may find the icing a little on the thin side but we’re not complaining.

Fluff Bakery
Get in quick to nab some of the fluffiest (no pun intended) bakes around and enjoy cupcakes with luscious fillings – it’s hard to go past a Nutella Red Velvet (definitely a chocolate lover’s dream). Baked in-house daily at Penny University, you’ll need to get in quick as these delicious bakes are often sold out by noon. Top tip: check their Instagram page first before heading over to double check cupcake availability.

Whips Cupcakes
$1 mini cupcakes? You heard right. It’s pretty hard to go past a super cheap, mini cake bite that leaves you with just enough room to sample a second (or third) cupcake. Flavours like Valrhona Chocolate and Cookies and Cream make the decision that much easier.

Swirls Bake Shop
Arguably one of the best cupcake shops in Singapore, Swirls delivers American style cupcakes, with a homemade edge. If you love your cakes fresh, dense, but still moist, this is the place to be. Those with a sweet tooth will adore the sugary frosting.

The name of the game here: customisable cupcakes. We love that you get to pick your base and your butter-cream frosting. They also score bonus points for offering two sizes of cupcake, small and regular.
