Drop off your bags and get ready for a Tropical Thrills adventure at Universal Studios Singapore (for just $66 for an adult one-day ticket with a free treat)! Don’t miss the meet and greet sessions with iconic stars in their tropical island outfits, such as DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls featuring Guy Diamond’s first-ever appearance at Universal Studios Singapore, Minions and Gru from Illumination’s Despicable Me, the stars of Sesame Street and more. You’ll also spot King Kahula from a mile away at the Lagoon Stage; who will say hello with music and jokes.

Savour the tropical-themed treats such as the Hala Kahiki Pot from Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor – a pineapple-shaped pie pastry that hides a creamy honey turkey ham, mushroom, potato, carrot and chicken stew, and the refreshing Sunray Punch that has pineapple juice and Sprite mixed with a fruity punch. The Coco-pine Ice Cream from Mel’s Drive-In is a summery soft serve with flavours of coconut, pineapple and vanilla. Get it in a cone or as a sundae cup topped with roasted coconut flakes and chocolate or strawberry sauce!

Once you’ve fuelled up, have a blast taking on the myriad rides at this theme park that transports you into another world. The line-up of stars also includes Shrek, Princess Fiona, Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws from DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek as well as Alex, Gloria and King Julien from DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar; Woody Woodpecker will pop out for some fun at New York, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

After a day of adventure, indulge in a satiating Italian feast with a dinner at Fratelli. On its Haute Tropics Aloha Italia menu (till 31 May), enjoy tropical-themed highlights like Lomi Lomi Salmon made with cured salmon and ‘carpaccio’ salad; Pizza Hawaiian Ku’uipo that’s topped with Italian ham and peppers; and Ono Luau Pizza featuring shredded kalua pork and marinated zucchini. Pair your meal with the boozy Blue Hawaii with Blue Curacao and Smirnoff vodka or the Champagne Punch with Santa Margherita Prosecco and Famous Grouse whisky. And save room for dessert because the dark chocolate Haupia Pie is a must-try.

Sunday: A hotel breakfast feast and S.E.A. Aquarium fun

Rise and shine! A beautiful breakfast spread awaits at your hotel in the morning, with local and international dishes to suit your fancy. Grab your morning coffee or tea and you’ll be all set for another exciting day.

For a hearty lunch to celebrate the weekend, tuck into Osia Steak & Seafood Grill’s The Haute Tropics: A Sun-and-Sea Spread (till 31 May) for an amazing five-course meal. The selection includes Pacific-style grilled seafood and meat including Blackmore full blood wagyu skirt steak and wild red prawn served with fragrant garlic herb butter, roasted asparagus and golden pineapple salsa.

Head over to S.E.A. Aquarium for an aquatic adventure (from $32 for an adult one-day ticket with a free treat), where 100,000 species of marine animals call home. With The Sea of Tiki (till 11 May), follow a tiki-themed tropical trail and spot tropical aquatic life at the Coral Garden, Clownfish and Anemones Habitat and Hard Coral Habitat. Along the way, bright tiki totem sign boards provide you with fun nuggets of information on these animals.

For snaps to remember your trip by, take a picture at various photo points such as at the Shipwrecked entrance, Tiki Totem Me, and the Volcano where the manta ray mascot will appear daily!
