2. Local culture: Sikhs in Singapore – A Story Untold

We love that Singapore is a melting pot of cultures. There’s always something to learn and discover. This time, take a closer look at the Sikh community with this exhibition. Held at the Indian Heritage Centre, Sikhs in Singapore – A Story Untold narrates the Sikh story through three parts, starting from the origins, followed by the migration experience and perspectives from modern-day Sikhs.

3. Dine: Ce La Vi Picnic in the Clouds

Head on up to Ce La Vi for Picnic in the Clouds, an adults-only picnic-style soiree set against spectacular views of Singapore’s backdrop. Held in partnership with Grey Goose, expect bottomless handcrafted cocktails, drinks and spirits. As for bites, munch on grub like house-made wraps, artisan sandwiches, charcuterie boards and desserts. Art and Design consultancy The Artling has teamed up with The Straits Clan to present a cool artist residency programme at the private club. Aiming to nurture the thriving art scene in Singapore, The Creative Studio will give an opportunity for local artists to hone and showcase their craft. While the programme aims to connect with the club members through art, the works can be seen and bought by anyone online. This musical is both a hilarious and touching musical about loving yourself. 16-year-old Jane’s got it hard. She’s constantly bullied in school, her overbearing mum scolds her at home and she’s troubled with self-critical voices in her head. Things take an interesting turn when she receives a magic mirror from a flamboyant Fairy God Delivery Beng. She comes face-to-face with a monster who’s been living inside her head all her life.

7. Virtual travel: Taberu Tohoku Tour

Who missed out on Japan Rail Cafe’s virtual tour last year? Well, its next stop is the Tohoku Region in northeast Japan. The themed cafe will take you on a virtual train ride along Sanriku Coast, Sendai City and Hirono Sea Urchin Farm. Presented by The Aesthetic Project and supported by the National Arts Council, A man waiting for the leaves to fall doesn’t involve dialogue nor actors. Instead, it focuses on theatrical design to tell its story of the pivotal events in a man’s life with themes like lost communication caused by modern society.

10. Art: NUS Arts Festival 2021: A Question of Time

Back for its 16th edition, NUS Arts Festival 2021 explores the meaning of time with a very apt question given the Covid-19 climate: “How do you measure and mark time in your life?”.
