This year, the Indian Heritage Centre (IHC) has an exciting line-up of online and offline cultural activities to usher in the harvest festival aka Pongal. But for a full-on immersive experience, sign up for IHC Pongal Day Out. The trail takes you around Campbell Lane to witness the colourful buzz of Pongal preparation and the dazzling light-up along Serangoon Road. After that, catch a live demonstration on how to create a kolam (floor drawings) and learn how to make the traditional Pongal dish. In addition, there’s the planting workshop where you can pot your very own plant.

Gone are the days where we try to fix something that’s broken. These days, we can easily replace anything, thanks to mass consumption. But, this exhibition at the National Design Centre is challenging that notion. R for Repair invites 10 local designers to unleash their creativity by breathing new life into broken objects. From a worn-out wristwatch to a teacup with a broken handle, the restored exhibits will make you see that repair work is more than just putting things together. It’s a process that also sparks innovation.
