The works reference a pivotal moment in Singapore’s history where the government used art as one of the cornerstones for nation-building. Don’t be surprised when you meet the humble recorder, which played a central role in our music classes in primary school. Also, check out the online programmes for a complete experience.

Yes, you read that right. Award-winning bar 28HKS has launched its proper dinner menu that showcases full-on meals. Each menu is curated by an industry-leading chef from the US and this time ‘round, award-winning chef Michelle Bernstein gives us soulful Southern comfort food from Miami’s Sweet Liberty. This week, dig into steak frites or Southern-style BBQ ribs accompanied with smoked potato salad and baked beans. For a liquid companion, take your pick from Sweet Liberty’s faves such as Brown Derby, Beast of Bourbon and Ginger Highball, which all see a splash of Michter’s US*1 small batch bourbon.

Eat: A Polish feast

We might not be able to go on a holiday at the moment, but thanks to the sudden surge of international festivals, we can have a hint of travel without leaving Singapore. On that note, the fourth edition of PolandShiok is in town. We’re particularly excited about the culinary collab with Xperience Restaurant at So Sofitel Singapore! Tuck into a three- or four-course menu, which highlights ingredients from the Malopolska region in Poland. Think Polish superfoods like eggs and pickles.

Featuring works from local artists, the hodgepodge of installations digs deeper into the connection of human bodies with themes like alternative kinship and the shifting urban landscape.
