Symmetry
Symmetry is – hands down – one of our favourite spots for English breakfast. The eponymous big breakfast has scrambled eggs, tater tots, smoked salmon, chicken cheese sausage, sauteed mushrooms, maple-glazed bacon and sourdough topped with berry butter. Boy, that was a mouthful! And good luck trying to finish it all by yourself (i.e. sharing is caring).

The White Rabbit
A go-to romantic restaurant, this stunning establishment is housed in a conserved chapel and exudes an elegant old world charm with a touch of contemporary decor. But date night is not all it’s known for. Brunch is a decadent affair, especially with its hearty White Rabbit Fry Up, which offers two eggs done any style, alongside Iberico ham pork bratwurst and grilled baby cos lettuce.

Wild Honey
If we’re talking about breakfast, you know Wild Honey will make the list. Offering a variety of brekkie styles, from Norwegian to Tunisian to Mexican, this is where you’ll be spoilt for choice. But since we’re spotlighting the classic English breakfast, Wild Honey’s Full Works lives up to its name. We’re talking about eggs (poached, fried or scrambled), Canadian bacon, pork sausage, white pudding, mushrooms, baked beans, sweet potato hash, grilled tomato and a chunky slice of toasted brioche.

The Providore
Get your English breakfast fix at The Providore and don’t forget to order a Bloody Mary to go with it. Our favourite location is the Raffles Place outlet – located in a sunlit glasshouse, it stocks retail products so you can shop for fresh buns and gourmet products. But first, tuck into the sinful combination of eggs, grilled bacon, pork sausage, roasted tomato and sauteed mushrooms.

Food for Thought
Here, you can choose between the Basic Works (eggs, bacon, bread) and the Full Works (garlic mushrooms… mmm). Of course, we say go all out and get the latter. Once stuffed, take a stroll around the museum to walk off the guilt!

It’s easy to get distracted by other choices on the menu (buttermilk pancakes, anyone?) but this breakfast platter will always have our vote. Just taste the fixings – bacon, kurobuta pork sausage, roasted potatoes and veggies, eggs, and brioche – and tell us otherwise. Oh, and while you’re here, don’t miss out on the crowd-pleasing truffle fries.

Common Man Coffee Roasters
The plates at Common Man Coffee Roasters are as Instagram-worthy as it gets. Snap away at the Common Man Full Breakfast, which consists of two free-range organic eggs (in any style you want), bacon, sausage, vegetable rosti, portobello mushroom, house-made chorizo baked beans and herbed tomato. You also get a choice of sourdough or wholemeal toast. Oh, and the brews are exquisite.

PS.Cafe
Laze the weekend away at PS.Cafe’s picture-perfect East Coast Park outlet (our favourite of the lot!). The Big Breakfast comes with two eggs (poached, fried, or scrambled), smoked bacon, spinach, buttered toast, baked beans, cherry tomatoes and pork or Angus sausage. Heavy, but worth it!

The English House, By Marco Pierre White
It’s no surprise that you get a plate of fry-up in its full glory at this British establishment. Available on weekdays, the English breakfast comes with crisp bacon, grilled sausages, roasted tomato, mushrooms, fried egg and, for your carb dose, crumpets. It can’t get any more English than this!

The Butcher’s Wife
Those allergic to gluten can have their fill of this hearty brekkie dish at The Butcher’s Wife. Known for slinging out gluten-free grub, its breakfast platter is one to satisfy with servings of lamb sausage, crispy glazed bacon, white beans salsa, rosti and organic eggs done to your preference. Oh, and for dips, you get fermented beetroot ketchup.

The folks at Sarnies know what constitutes a good breakfast – stellar coffee and top-notch brekkie options. Leave your diet at the door and feast on its fry-up, made of home-cured bacon (it’s just the right fat to meat ratio and served crispy), buttered toast, beans, mushrooms, fried potatoes, chorizo and eggs.
