Time sure flies, huh? We’re at the tail end of September, which means Halloween is just around the corner! While we gear up for a new month, the city’s filled with loads of things to do this weekend, from festivals that touch on mental health and architecture to boozy events like a novel beer run.

Festival: An online concert for mental health

All weekend
Brought to you by Singapore’s National Council of Social Service, mental health campaign Beyond the Label will be going virtual this year. In hopes of supporting those with mental health conditions and promoting mental wellbeing (we all could use that in 2020), it offers workshops like yoga and creative journaling, as well as live open dialogue sessions. And don’t miss out on the virtual concert hosted by Benjamin Kheng with performances from local artists such as Kit Chan and Stefanie Sun.

Drink: Make your own cocktail

Rediscover the bustling streets of Little India with an exciting Cocktail Trail. As its moniker suggests, this class will take you through the entire process, from sourcing fresh ingredients at spice markets with Chimichanga’s in-house cocktail expert to concocting three heady Mexican drinks in the restaurant. Festival: A 12-hour online show by Peatix

Who doesn’t love a fun Sunday session? Take it up a notch with Mexican joint Chimi’s as it teams up with Le Noir Marina Bay Sands and L’Entrecôte Customs House to bring you a fun weekly beer run. As part of the SingapoRediscovers campaign, the race will take you on a scenic route around the bay area with pit stops at the aforementioned establishments for a little boozy refuel.

Festival: Discover sustainable design with Singapore Archifest

This year, the architectural festival is going offline and online to showcase the impact and positive change that architecture can have on our current climate. There are over 100 programmes to choose from including virtual exhibitions, film screenings, physical pop-ups and online workshops.

Play: A whodunit mystery in Chinatown

Here’s the premise: There’s a serial killer on the loose and it’s your job to solve the crime. The exhilarating murder mystery game, Niu Che Shui Murder, will take you around Chinatown as you find clues and solve puzzles, all while learning the rich history of the area. Gather your squad (a team of up to five people) and let the gamemaster take you on a whirlwind tour around this ethnic enclave.

Festival: Understand the lives of people with dementia

In its third run, The Enabling Festival is going virtual to reach out to more people and raise awareness about dementia. The theme this edition is “Do You See What I See?” and it spotlights caregivers of the dementia community. Take time to explore the various programmes, which include talks by healthcare professionals, movement classes, informational movies and personal stories from caregivers.

Eat: A luxurious lazy breakfast
