The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
For all things glitz and glam, there’s no better place to shop and dine like an A-lister than at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Undoubtedly the swankiest mall in Singapore, it offers a huge range of high-end, luxury brands as well as celebrity restaurants under one roof. Shop at the likes of Chanel, Fendi, Hermès, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, and more or kick back with a meal before watching a show at the Sands Theatre.

Plaza Singapura is one of our top go-to spots for DIY thanks to art and craft supply stores like Spotlight and Art Friend. If you’re hoping to kill two birds with one stone, it’s also the perfect destination to shop beauty (there’s a mega Sephora store there) or local brands at multi-label boutique, NomadX

Funan
Funan used to be a mecca for the latest electronics and IT goods – with exclusive deals if you were a regular customer. But after a three-year-long makeover, the new Funan opened its doors on June 2019. It intends to inspire play, learning, creativity and connection by adopting six themes – tech, craft, play, fit, chic and taste – and they have exciting tenants to prove it. We’re talking local labels like Carrie K., Another Sole, Love Bonito, Courts, Green Collective SG, Grafunkt and restos like Noka for Japanese cuisine, Godmama for mod-Peranakan cuisine and cocktails and Guzman y Gomez for that Mexican fix. It’s also home to several new kids on the block – Dyson’s first standalone boutique, Brompton Junction’s Southeast Asian debut, Wild Rice’s theatre and studio and even a seven-screen Golden Village cinema.

Ngee Ann City
One of the premier shopping malls in town, Ngee Ann City is home to luxury and local brands alike, including Takashimaya (the largest department store in Singapore), Kinokuniya bookstore, plus a bevy of salons and aesthetic services. It’s no surprise that the mall comes to life during the festive season, holding massive shopping events, roadshows and exhibitions at Takashimaya Square and Civic Plaza.

Wheelock Place
The iconic conical glass roof design along with the nostalgic Borders bookstore (#RIPBorders), office tower and Marks & Spencer’s best food hall in Singapore spell Wheelock Place for most. Wheelock Place has reinvented itself over the years and is now home to aesthetics and dental clinics, salons and fashion accessory labels. OUE Downtown’s got to be the swankiest shopping mall in town. Its concepts are unlike any other. Take the Beauty Bar. To browse, explore and select makeup and skincare products, and simply use any of the four vending machines available to cut down on the usual fuss it takes to explore a retail store. And then there’s the Social Kitchen, where you can cook and dine with friends and family, or mingle with other users. But our favourite has to be the boutique fitness studios where workouts are seriously kickass and with far more flexible memberships than the average gym.

ION Orchard
Singapore’s most famous shopping destination on Orchard Road, shouldn’t need an introduction, and we’re not just talking about its iconic architecture. Home to over 300 retail stores, as well as luxury labels, this ultimate go-to mall will have you occupied for hours. After all that shopping, catch a breather over a cup of tea at Bacha Coffee or dine with a view at Salt Grill & Sky Bar.

A popular haunt of expats, Tanglin Mall tops our list for decor shopping in malls. For starters, there’s House of AnLi, a bistro-slash-store which houses a gorgeous range of quality interiors imported from all over Europe. We all know that Bugis is a mecca for millennials and the gen Z crowd, with Bugis Junction and Bugis Street close by, and Bugis+ is no less. If you’re not looking to splurge your dough in one go (especially after a visit at Paragon Medical Centre next door), swing by Paragon the mall next door. This shopping mall at Orchard Road has a great mix of designer labels and mid-range brands. Be greeted by brands such as Balenciaga, Burberry, Gucci, Loewe and Miu Miu as you enter the first floor, and climb your way up for brands like Marks & Spencer, Calvin Klein and more. No matter the price range, there’s certainly something for everyone.

Singapore’s known for its sprawling shopping malls and Suntec City is no different. Hell, there are four areas (west wing, east wing, north wing, fountain terrace) worth of stores for you to check out. A trip to the shopping mall almost feels like an excursion, with the popular Fountain of Wealth emerging as the crowning glory. Aside from an arcade, karaoke studio, local boutiques and numerous restaurants, there’s also the Suntec City Convention Centre close by, where concerts, exhibitions and mega sale events take place.

Make no mistake: orchardgateway is far from your average cookie-cutter Orchard Road mall. You’ll also find the multi-label store Actually.

Millenia Walk
Millenia Walk may be one of the most underrated shopping malls in Singapore. We’re unsure of the reason but looking at the array of premier lifestyle brands, a culinary trail of scrumptious eats, a surprising range of electronics stores, plus a gym and fitness studio dotted around the premises, we vow to pay more visits. Also, architecture lovers will appreciate the interior design. Look up and swoon over the 15 colourful asymmetrical pyramids by Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate, Philip Johnson.

City Square Mall
Ask any parent for a kid-friendly mall reco and the eco-conscious City Square will come to mind. But there’s more for adults too! Check out Decathlon, Don Don Donki, arcades, a cinema, a suspended playground and more. Plus, it’s just a stone’s throw away from Little India.

Far East Plaza

There’s no escaping a quick retail session when you’re in this popular Eastern neighbourhood mall. Amongst the holy trifecta of shopping malls surrounding Tampines MRT Station, Tampines 1 is the glitziest. April 2019 saw an interesting addition to our multi-award-winning Changi Airport. It was impossible to miss the buzz about Jewel Changi…even if you lived under a rock. Northpoint City
Yishun just got bigger and better. Northpoint City recently saw a major expansion – it’s now the largest shopping mall in the north. The Star Vista
