There are two main passions when it comes to things to do in Singapore: shopping and eating. Lucky for everyone, the city’s rife with havens for both. Whether you’re looking to for luxury goods, beauty and skincare, home decor, or the best restaurants, you’d find these in a heartbeat at one of Singapore’s myriad malls.

Read on for our guide to Singapore’s best shopping malls

CENTRAL

The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands

For all things glitz and glam, there’s no better place to shop and dine like an A-lister than at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Undoubtedly the swankiest mall in Singapore, it offers a huge range of high-end, luxury brands as well as celebrity restaurants under one roof. Shop at the likes of Chanel, Fendi, Hermès, Tom Ford, Louis Vuitton, and more or kick back with a meal before watching a show at the Sands Theatre.
The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018956

Plaza Singapura

Plaza Singapura is one of our top go-to spots for DIY thanks to art and craft supply stores like Spotlight and Art Friend. If you’re hoping to kill two birds with one stone, it’s also the perfect destination to shop beauty (there’s a mega Sephora store there) or local brands at multi-label boutique, NomadX
Plaza Singapura, 68 Orchard Road, Singapore 238839

Funan

Funan used to be a mecca for the latest electronics and IT goods – with exclusive deals if you were a regular customer. But after a three-year-long makeover, the new Funan opened its doors on June 2019. It intends to inspire play, learning, creativity and connection by adopting six themes – tech, craft, play, fit, chic and taste – and they have exciting tenants to prove it. We’re talking local labels like Carrie K., Another Sole, Love Bonito, Courts, Green Collective SG, Grafunkt and restos like Noka for Japanese cuisine, Godmama for mod-Peranakan cuisine and cocktails and Guzman y Gomez for that Mexican fix. It’s also home to several new kids on the block – Dyson’s first standalone boutique, Brompton Junction’s Southeast Asian debut, Wild Rice’s theatre and studio and even a seven-screen Golden Village cinema.

And there’s an Urban farm, a futsal court, indoor cycling paths, rock-climbing facilities and a robotic ‘Click & Collect Lounge’. Get the full scoop on Funan here.
Funan, 109 North Bridge Road, Singapore 179097

Ngee Ann City

One of the premier shopping malls in town, Ngee Ann City is home to luxury and local brands alike, including Takashimaya (the largest department store in Singapore), Kinokuniya bookstore, plus a bevy of salons and aesthetic services. It’s no surprise that the mall comes to life during the festive season, holding massive shopping events, roadshows and exhibitions at Takashimaya Square and Civic Plaza.
Ngee Ann City, 391A Orchard Road, Singapore 238873

Wheelock Place

The iconic conical glass roof design along with the nostalgic Borders bookstore (#RIPBorders), office tower and Marks & Spencer’s best food hall in Singapore spell Wheelock Place for most. Wheelock Place has reinvented itself over the years and is now home to aesthetics and dental clinics, salons and fashion accessory labels. We’re also liking the Holystic Sneaker Laundry near the M&S Cafe. Need a quick break? Rest your legs and people-watch at Prive’s alfresco terrace.
Wheelock Place, 501 Orchard Road, Singapore 238880

OUE Downtown

OUE Downtown’s got to be the swankiest shopping mall in town. Its concepts are unlike any other. Take the Beauty Bar. To browse, explore and select makeup and skincare products, and simply use any of the four vending machines available to cut down on the usual fuss it takes to explore a retail store. And then there’s the Social Kitchen, where you can cook and dine with friends and family, or mingle with other users. But our favourite has to be the boutique fitness studios where workouts are seriously kickass and with far more flexible memberships than the average gym.
OUE Downtown, Shenton Way, 6A, Singapore 068815

ION Orchard

Singapore’s most famous shopping destination on Orchard Road, shouldn’t need an introduction, and we’re not just talking about its iconic architecture. Home to over 300 retail stores, as well as luxury labels, this ultimate go-to mall will have you occupied for hours. After all that shopping, catch a breather over a cup of tea at Bacha Coffee or dine with a view at Salt Grill & Sky Bar.
ION Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801

Tanglin Mall

A popular haunt of expats, Tanglin Mall tops our list for decor shopping in malls. For starters, there’s House of AnLi, a bistro-slash-store which houses a gorgeous range of quality interiors imported from all over Europe. After your retail therapy, rest your legs at one of the many cafes and eateries.

We all know that Bugis is a mecca for millennials and the gen Z crowd, with Bugis Junction and Bugis Street close by, and Bugis+ is no less. As with every other shopping mall in Singapore, you’ll be spoilt for choice at the myriad dining and retail choices here. But the number of entertainment options will truly keep you on your toes. There’s an indoor prawning space, a dog cafe, fun activities for Lan gaming, darts and karaoke, board game cafes, and arcades, just to name a few.

313@Somerset

A hotspot for teens (and those on a budget), 313@Somerset offers affordable retailers, local brands and high street brands like Pomelo, Style Theory, Forever 21, Zara, Mango and Cotton On. Complete your outfit with a new pair of kicks from flagship stores of shoe brands such as Ecco and Aldo.

Capitol Singapore

Located on the grounds of the legendary Capitol Theatre, this shopping spot is decorated with opulent Art Deco-inspired interiors and is home to some of Singapore’s most famous homegrown and multi-brand stores. Getting hunger pangs? 15 Stamford by Alvin Leung at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore is great for a stopover.
Capitol Singapore, 13 Stamford Road, Singapore 178905

Paragon

If you’re not looking to splurge your dough in one go (especially after a visit at Paragon Medical Centre next door), swing by Paragon the mall next door. This shopping mall at Orchard Road has a great mix of designer labels and mid-range brands. Be greeted by brands such as Balenciaga, Burberry, Gucci, Loewe and Miu Miu as you enter the first floor, and climb your way up for brands like Marks & Spencer, Calvin Klein and more. No matter the price range, there’s certainly something for everyone.
Paragon, 290 Orchard Road, Singapore 238859

Suntec City

Singapore’s known for its sprawling shopping malls and Suntec City is no different. Hell, there are four areas (west wing, east wing, north wing, fountain terrace) worth of stores for you to check out. A trip to the shopping mall almost feels like an excursion, with the popular Fountain of Wealth emerging as the crowning glory. Aside from an arcade, karaoke studio, local boutiques and numerous restaurants, there’s also the Suntec City Convention Centre close by, where concerts, exhibitions and mega sale events take place.
Suntec City, 3 Temasek Boulevard, Singapore 038983

Orchardgateway

Make no mistake: orchardgateway is far from your average cookie-cutter Orchard Road mall. This shopping mall offers more than just your run-of-the-mill high street labels, with edgy and offbeat tenants such as menswear store Sects Shop which carries Singapore labels Depression and Not Cool Enough. You’ll also find the multi-label store Actually.
orchardgateway, 277 Orchard Road, Singapore 238858

Millenia Walk

Millenia Walk may be one of the most underrated shopping malls in Singapore. We’re unsure of the reason but looking at the array of premier lifestyle brands, a culinary trail of scrumptious eats, a surprising range of electronics stores, plus a gym and fitness studio dotted around the premises, we vow to pay more visits. Also, architecture lovers will appreciate the interior design. Look up and swoon over the 15 colourful asymmetrical pyramids by Pritzker Architecture Prize Laureate, Philip Johnson.
Millenia Walk, 9 Raffles Boulevard, Singapore 039596

City Square Mall

Ask any parent for a kid-friendly mall reco and the eco-conscious City Square will come to mind. But there’s more for adults too! Check out Decathlon, Don Don Donki, arcades, a cinema, a suspended playground and more. Plus, it’s just a stone’s throw away from Little India.
City Square Mall, 180 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208539

Far East Plaza

Far East Plaza may not be the glitziest out of the lot but it’s filled with treasures like affordable mid-range boutiques, beauty salons for mani-pedis, hair extensions and facials, and even tattoo parlours at every nook and cranny. And let’s not forget about the ample eateries here, including Cahaya Restaurant, The Sushi Bar and Ayam Penyet Ria.

EAST

Tampines 1

There’s no escaping a quick retail session when you’re in this popular Eastern neighbourhood mall. Amongst the holy trifecta of shopping malls surrounding Tampines MRT Station, Tampines 1 is the glitziest. Get your wallets ready and splurge on the likes of Topshop, Uniqlo, Sephora, Daniel Wellington, Dorothy Perkins, Promod, Adidas and Forever New. Indulge yourself in a well-deserved pampering session or work up a sweat at Amore Living fitness centre and boutique spa on level five.
Tampines 1, 10 Tampines Central 1, Singapore 529536

Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ Mall)

Does the east side need another shopping mall? The answer is a resounding yes. PLQ Mall holds over 200 shops including F&B concepts with alfresco dining, retail outlets, a gym, a co-working space, and a sustainability zone to learn more about leading a zero-waste lifestyle.

Jewel Changi

April 2019 saw an interesting addition to our multi-award-winning Changi Airport. It was impossible to miss the buzz about Jewel Changi…even if you lived under a rock. Extra AF in every single way, Jewel Changi boasts the world’s tallest indoor waterfall at 40 metres high (hello, HSBC Rain Vortex), over 280 unique retail and dining options and a hefty 1.7 billion-dollar price tag. It’s a retail paradise, an architectural marvel and a sprawling tropical indoor rainforest/waterfall experience, all rolled into one. And we’re most proud of all the local brands that have taken over the 10-storey mall by the airport. Get the full scoop on Jewel Changi’s local takeover here.
Jewel Changi, Changi Airport Singapore, 78 Airport Boulevard, Singapore 819666

I12 Katong

Temporarily closed for renovations.

We’ve established the cool spots in Joo Chiat and Katong for all your Instagram snaps, and even accompanied them with an all-you-need-to-know guide of this fascinating district, but that’s not all there is to find when it comes to shopping. Be sure to drop by I12 Katong mall when you go exploring in Joo Chiat and Katong, and check out stores such as Singapore’s Naiise which carries a variety of quirky items ranging from home decor to street fashion and skincare. If you’re a collector of toys, shop innovative trinkets at Toy Outpost.
I12 Katong, 112 East Coast Road, Singapore 428802

Kallang Wave Mall

Another big hit for sporty people, Kallang Wave Mall packs a punch when it comes to sports gear. Shop protective eyewear at Sport On Eyewear, outdoor accessories at Outdoor Sports Travel, and of course, football shirts and boots at Weston Corp, while basketball fans can cop jerseys and shirts at Hoops Factory.
Kallang Wave Mall, 1 Stadium Place, Singapore 397628

WEST

Westgate Mall

Despite being known as a lifestyle and shopping destination, Westgate Mall houses some of the best eateries in the West. For an upscale dining experience, book a table at the Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant, Zaffron Kitchen or Cat & The Fiddle for dessert. Craving a Singapore favourite? Dig into 328 Katong Laksa’s signature laksa without going all the way to the east.
Westgate, 3 Gateway Drive, Singapore 608532

JEM

This West-side shopping gem (get it?) has all sorts of retailers, from fashion and beauty stores to homeware and bookstores. Shop ‘til you drop at H&M, Mango, Charles & Keith, Muji and many more. There’s also Fairprice Xtra, just in case you want to do some last-minute grocery shopping. Oh, and it’s confirmed that the third Ikea outlet will be situated right here, come 2021.
JEM, 50 Jurong Gateway Road, Singapore 608549

JCube

If you dig the Bugis Street scene, but can’t be bothered to travel all the way there, there’s always JCube. Besides housing an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink, a karaoke bar and an IMAX theatre, the shopping mall is also home to several blogshop stalls. No doubt, you’ll find all sorts of affordable items from clothes and accessories to home decor and quirky trinkets.
JCUBE, 2 Jurong East Central 1, Singapore 609731

NORTH

Northpoint City

Yishun just got bigger and better. Northpoint City recently saw a major expansion – it’s now the largest shopping mall in the north. Foodies will be seriously spoilt for choice here, with 100 dining concepts (this includes popular Korean resto Pizza Maru and volcano ramen hotspot Tonkotsu Kazen Ramen) added to the mix, and a new food street called The Makan Town.
Northpoint City, 930 Yishun Ave 2, Singapore 769098

The Star Vista

No exaggeration here: The Star Vista looks like something out of a sci-fi flick, with its mind-bending geometrical columns, curved glazed canopy and glass facade. Home to The Star Theatre (which has been graced by artists like Ed Sheeran and Two Door Cinema Club), the mall also offers a buzzy list of events, including film screenings, and Zumba and kickboxing sessions.
The Star Vista, 1 Vista Exchange Green, Singapore 138617

Waterway Point

Hang out by the riverside at the shopping mall next to Punggol Waterway. The four-storey shopping mall is home to over 200 stores, ranging from fashion to food, furnishings, and entertainment. Catch a movie on the big screen at the 1,500-seat Shaw Theatres IMAX, bag the latest collections at H&M and Uniqlo, and one for the bookworms – read your way through Singapore’s largest Times bookstore. Trust us, this isn’t your ordinary suburban mall.
Waterway Point, 83 Punggol Central, Singapore 828761

Nex

Those residing in the north will agree that Nex is quickly becoming a mall that’s on par with its glitzy Orchard Road counterparts. Why? Beauty enthusiasts will end the debate by mentioning Sephora (yes, there’s an outlet right here), but you’ll also find a gym, a dog-friendly playground, and countless retail and food choices in this mall.
Nex, 23 Serangoon Central, Singapore 556083

SOUTH

VivoCity

The largest shopping mall in Singapore, VivoCity is more than its impressive architecture and directory, ranging from fashion and beauty to electronics and homewares. It’s also packed with plenty of entertainment options to keep the kids (and those young at heart) occupied. Take a dip in the sky park’s mini water playground, enjoy a blockbuster movie at Golden Village, tuck into countless restaurants and sign your kids up for some playground fun on level two. Plus, you can’t ignore the gorgeous views of Sentosa Island on VivoCity’s rooftop.
