Remember when Creamier broke our hearts after it closed its first outlet in Toa Payoh? Well, it came back in a hot minute at a new spot but still in the same ‘hood. It’s one of our go-tos for two of our favourite things – ice cream and coffee. The simple cafe attracts everyone from all walks of life, and we love it for the popular Earl Grey lavender ice cream.

The CBD

The Muffinry

Order online for pickup and islandwide delivery.

We love how intimate and homely this Telok Ayer mainstay is. Head to the second and third floors of the quiet space and you’ll see what we mean. Plus, the smell of muffins is too good to resist. The flavours change from time to time and if you’re lucky, we recommend the spiced carrot and the Earl Grey.

My Awesome Cafe

Temporarily closed.

With its Chinese medicinal store facade and charming interior made up of random bits and bobs, My Awesome Cafe is absolutely endearing. The great range of salads makes for a satiating, healthy lunch – we can’t go past My Awesome Salad, a generous portion of mesclun with smoked salmon, herbed chicken breast, duck rillette, avocado and tomatoes.

If you’re yearning for an Australian hipster cafe, this is your place. Sarnies was one of the first decent coffee shops to open in the CBD, making it a hotspot for breakfast and lunch crowds. Wondering what should you get? You can’t go wrong with egg and sausage muffins, salmon and cheese bagels, or the gloriously-stuffed breakfast wrap alongside a cup of joe.

Drury Lane

A quaint cafe along Tanjong Pagar Road, Drury Lane offers sizeable (all day) breakfast platters like The Big 94 – a feast of multigrain tortilla with Sriracha maple, beef sausage, two eggs done your way, BBQ beans, mushrooms and turkey bacon. Alternatively, go English with Marmite cheese soldiers and soft-boiled eggs. Can’t get enough of salted egg? Make a beeline for the creamy salted yolk eggs benny with grilled prawns.
