Staying in these days because of the circuit breaker? Don’t let the situation take all the fun away. Life must go on, right? And there are so many fun things you can do without leaving the comfort of your own home. For starters, you can read a book or treat yourself to some online shopping. But if you’re looking for couch entertainment to pass the time, this grand list of shows and movies will come in handy. Bookmark the Honeycombers Binge-Watch List for times when you’re out of ideas and looking for something new to obsess over.

Too Hot To Handle

Another reality dating show that’s so bad, it’s good? Yes please! Too Hot To Handle has an interesting premise. Ten attractive men and women are put together on a private island complete with a ridiculously gorgeous and massive villa. Sparks fly right away, but there’s a catch. No one’s allowed to do the nasty – that means all kinds of sexual acts – or an amount from the $100,000 prize money will be deducted. The crux of the show is to attain genuine relationships instead of hookups, but you can’t expect epiphanies on a trashy reality show. What you’ll get, however, is meme-worthy content, hilarious characters (justice for Chloe!) and LOL-worthy narration by comedian Desiree Burch.

Hollywood

From the minds of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan (Glee, Scream Queens), Hollywood takes you back in time to the Golden Age of American movies after World War II. With a twist, of course. The story spotlights actual Hollywood names like Rock Hudson, Hattie McDaniel and Vivien Leigh, but it rewrites history in a more inclusive way. Critic reviews have been a mixed bag, but if you’ve been following the work of Ryan and Ian, you’ll be curious enough to give it a go. Having an ensemble cast of big names doesn’t hurt either – everyone from Darren Criss and Dylan McDermott to Jim Parsons and Patti LuPone make an appearance.

Upload

This new future-set sci-fi comedy satire gives you a peek into a universe where humans can ‘upload’ their consciousness into an afterlife of their choice when they’ve departed this world. It’s like an Altered Carbon version of The Good Place, complete with a touch of mystery, dystopian elements, romance, and yes, a cliffhanger ending leaving you hoping for a second season.

Unorthodox

An intriguing tale of one woman’s escape from her ultra conservative Hasidic Jewish community, Unorthodox is based (rather loosely) on Deborah Feldman’s 2012 memoir of the same name. It chronicles the life of Esty, a 19-year-old who flees from her arranged marriage in Brooklyn. Arriving in Berlin with nothing but a couple of personal items, she finds her way in this new life, not knowing that her husband and his cousin are on her trail. The mini series ends on an open note, but the journey is compelling.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw

This spin-off from the Fast and Furious franchise stars Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham as they grudgingly pair up to go head-to-head with a cyber-genetically enhanced villain who’s a danger to the world with his lethal virus. The fun flick draws you into its action scenes with brawls explosive enough to make you forget about the virus in real life.
Premieres 23 May on HBO Go

It provides a glimpse of the worldwide impact on mass food production, offering alternative suggestions for a more sustainable, and perhaps even healthier, future.

Tag along for the ride as she goes through the ups and downs of high school life, discovering friends, family bonds and love in the process.

Everyone loves a good comeback story, right? Veering away from the traditional romantic trope, this K-drama offers valuable life lessons through the story of Park Saeroyi, a student who is wrongly convicted. The Outsider

Based on the titular novel by Stephen King, the miniseries starts off with the discovery of a dead 11-year-old boy. Right off the bat, detective Ralph Anderson gathers all the evidence that points to Little League coach Terry Maitland as the murderer. But here’s the catch: There’s also solid proof that Maitland was out of town when the crime took place. What can we say? Leave it to King to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Outer Banks

It’s Kooks (the rich) vs Pogues (the working class) – that’s basically all you need to know about the latest YA series set in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Oh, and a thrilling treasure hunt, let’s not forget about that. As the group of teens navigate the waters of love, friendship and family, they uncover a secret haul of gold. For added suspense, that sets them up to be hunted down by a dangerous gold digger.

The Stranger

This eight-part limited series starts off with multiple questions when Adam Price, a happily married father of two kids, is approached by a stranger who spills a bone-chilling secret about his wife. Soon enough, he realises nothing is what it seems when new revelations slowly start to come out of the woodwork. Even horror maestro Stephen King gives the show a thumbs up.
