It’s the first weekend of the Covid-19 circuit breaker and it also happens to be a long weekend. Surprised? We know, WFH can make you lose track of the days. So we’ve compiled a list of things you can do at home without losing your mind! And yes, tipples are involved!

Netflix and chill virtually

Thanks to Netflix’s latest feature, Netflix Party, you and your squad can watch binge-worthy shows at the same time. On top of synchronised video playback, you can create group chats on the side for some real-time discussions. All you have to do is download the extension on Google Chrome and you’re all set for an exciting Friday night.

Stay-at-home beauty fun!

Catch the Northern Lights

Take a break from reality by watching the magical Northern Lights. Since we won’t be travelling anytime soon, this is the closest we can get to witnessing the elusive sky performance by Mother Nature. Thanks to Polar Bears International and Explore.org, we are blessed with a live feed from Manitoba, Canada. Just be prepared to wait like you would in real life (minus the subzero temperatures).

Listen to stellar audio entertainment

Done with your binge-watch list? Podcasts are having a moment right now and if you want to listen to the cream of the crop, check out our edit. From true crimes to local horror tales to love stories narrated by Hollywood heavyweights, these are the best podcasts we’re obsessing over

Stroll down iconic cities around the world

Pop over to sunny Ibiza before making your way to futuristic Tokyo and strolling through charming Amsterdam, followed by the busy streets of New York City. But how? Think Google maps but way better. We’ve compiled a list of the best and most vibrant virtual walking tours for you to immerse yourself in this long weekend!

Get some fresh air

Things to do this weekend in Singapore: Explore parks

We’re in the midst of a circuit breaker but that doesn’t mean we can’t get our dose of vitamin D and fresh air. Get a bit of outdoor exercise at parks in your area, but be mindful of crowds. Keep tabs on the Safe Distance @ Parks website by NParks to find out which green spaces near your home are the quietest in real-time. P.S. We’ve got a list of secret green spots for good measure.

Catch up on your reading

Lose track of time by getting lost in a good book. This month, our book club is spotlighting feel-good novels that give us the warm fuzzies – something we all could use right now.

Feel good with John Krasinski

We’re blessed with a beacon of light in the form of a new YouTube channel, Some Good News, by John Krasinski of The Office fame. What’s the show about? It’s only about good news, which makes it the perfect entertainment if you’re looking to distract yourself from the mess of reality. Hear stories that will melt your heart and look forward to other stars making an appearance, including Krasinski’s wife, Emily Blunt.

Bring the party home

Parties are a no-no right now, but if you’re looking for a mini revelry under your roof sans actual guests, we’ve got an idea. This party for one just needs good music and alcohol. For the former, tune in to our stay-home playlist. For the latter, bring home takeaway cocktails from the best bars in Singapore. Feeling peckish?
