Have you lost track of the days ‘cos of the WFH situation? You’re not alone. We too have been trying to stay motivated while working on our beds… we mean desks. Sometimes you just need an extra kick to get you motivated. Stay on top of your job and manage your tasks with these nifty productivity apps.

Trello

When you’re working remotely, it’s hard to visualise the tasks at hand, especially if they’re collaborative. This is where Trello comes in to make your day a little easier. It allows users to brainstorm ideas, add comments and set deadlines through its group board (think of it as a digital whiteboard) to help paint a bigger picture. Extra brownie points for its drag-and-drop navigation!

Productive – Habit Tracker

With productivity apps, you don't need numerous sticky notes.

You might be saving time and money on your commute and expensive lunches, but working from home is a whole different ball game. You will soon find out there are pesky distractions lurking around the corner of your seemingly peaceful abode. It’s all about cultivating a solid routine and this aptly named app will help you achieve your productivity goals. From sending reminders to helping you plan your to-do list to providing you with constructive feedback, you’ll get the hang of WFH.

Slack

Essentially an IM platform, Slack makes telecommuting a breeze by streamlining conversations through different channels, which you can swiftly join or leave. Think of the channels as virtual departments of the company. You can also confab with other team members in the same channel through separate threads without annoyingly notifying everyone. Plus, it also allows the integration of other apps like Zoom.

Pocket

This one might just come in handy for creatives. See something that piqued your interest on the internet but don’t have time to check it out just yet? You can seamlessly save any kind of content such as articles and videos in this handy app and view them later offline. A perfect solution for anyone who has a long list of bookmarks and needs some serious digital Marie Kondo-ing.

Bigwigs like Paypal, BBC Studios and Walmart use this project management tool to get things done. Firstly, it’s user friendly and you can easily manage your projects by colour-coding them. Secondly, it boosts productivity by giving you a clearer picture of all the progress made through its eye-catching graphs. Need extra manpower on something but can’t find anyone available? Easily examine your team’s workload before assigning them something new.

Cisco Webex

This video conferencing application has got your back when it comes to working remotely. While there are different plans you can sign up for, we think the free version is more than effective. You can easily set up video calls with up to 100 people and your call time won’t be limited. Plus, it’s got other standard features such as screen sharing and instant messaging.

G Suite

Some might think G Suite is too basic, but hey, it gets the job done. It is a project management, video conferencing and data analytical app all rolled into one. The USP has to be the fact that we can easily utilise any of its apps on the go (in this case it’ll be while making multiple trips to the kitchen from our rooms). Think real-time collaborative editing through Sheets and Docs or having a group video call via Hangouts Meet.
