Pet owners know this too well; you’re dying for a short weekend getaway, but you’re also reluctant to be away from your adorable furry kids. Besides taking them out to dog-friendly restaurants on your days off or relying on pet-sitters when you’re abroad, try a staycation with Fido at pet-friendly hotels in the city. Yes, they exist! Here are a couple of kick-ass hotels that open their doors for you and your four-legged BFF(s)…

Capella Singapore

Spanning across 30 acres of luscious greenery, the stunning resort successfully synthesises colonial charm with modern sophistication. With three pools and Palawan Beach a short walk away, it’s a place where you can lounge all day with your pooch. Plus, the hotel offers are plenty of open spaces around the property for your loyal four-legged chums to run around.

Regent Singapore

Another world-class pick that’s a quick drive away from the picturesque Botanic Gardens, Regent Singapore is a great place to stay with your pets if you’d like to stick semi-close to Orchard Road but far enough to avoid the maddening crowds. We love the fact that this swish hotel even provides a tiny bed and goodies for your fur baby.

Four Seasons Hotel Singapore

Nestled on the tranquil, tree-lined Orchard Boulevard, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore provides a welcome oasis of calm in the midst of the city’s bustle. Pets that weigh less than 7kg will get to enjoy the brand’s amazing, hospitable treatment with you. The charming hotel provides velvet cushions for your furry BFF to rest on, as well as a food bowl and a chew toy.

Amara Sanctuary

For an absolute R&R weekend, look no further than Amara Sanctuary. All about keeping its guests well relaxed and rejuvenated – including its furry visitors – the star accommodation offers rooms that are conveniently located away from the tourist hordes and directly open up to the swimming pool. Bear in mind, though: Only one pet that weighs no more than 7kg (sorry, big boys) are allowed on its premises for no additional fee. Be sure to have your fur baby with you at all times, except for these no-pet zones: The gym, swimming pool area and the Sentosa shuttle service.

Oasia Residence Singapore

Looking for a place to escape from the bustling city? Cue Oasia Residence in the West Coast. It’s not a hotel per se, but you can refresh, recharge and refuel at this serviced apartment with your lil’ pooch for a fee of $16.05 per pet, per night. With 140 studios, and one- or two-bedroom spaces available, Oasia Residence’s spacious apartments are fully furnished and come with amenities and facilities such as a kitchenette, free WiFi and housekeeping service (thrice-weekly).

InterContinental Singapore

With InterContinental Singapore’s Purr-fect Weekends hotel package, you and your pooch can stay in a Peranakan-inspired room (aka the Heritage Room) for some well-deserved bonding time. But do take note that they are not allowed in the hotel gym, swimming pool area, lounge or restaurants, and they have to be leashed or in a carrier when exploring the hotel premises. But with exciting ‘hoods in the vicinity like Little India and Kampong Glam, you can head out anytime with your pet for a fun adventure.

Fraser Suites

This pet-friendly hotel is fantastic for a stay in the central area. Located close to tourist hotspots such as Chinatown and Orchard Road, here’s where you can pamper yourself and your furkid at the air-conditioned rooms featuring kitchenettes loaded with refrigerators and microwaves. At $10 per pet, per night (maximum two pets), you can enjoy the open spaces with your fur babies.

The Wagington is, unfortunately, not open to humans. Strictly for felines and canines only, this luxury boutique hotel for pets offers four different suites: The Royal, Superior, Junior and Garden. For the pups, they get to enjoy a queen-sized bed with micro-suede bedsheets and quilt, a 32-inch led TV for entertainment, and complimentary fitness walks and swims. Meanwhile, felines get a premier cat condo that comes with a scratch post, soothing classical music and carpeted floors. Each room is kitted out with a high definition IP camera, so you can rest assured the hotel staff will be keeping an eye on your pets at all times. The place also has a spa service, bone pool and daycare for pups (all of which are open to the public).

Bonus: Hilton Singapore

While the luxe hotel no longer accepts pets, we’re happy to report that it continues to keep the doors open for service animals. So if you’re travelling with a trained service dog, add this place to your list of options!
