There’s something about fireworks that incites lots of oohs and ahhs, even from the hardest self-proclaimed non-romantics. Thanks to the many cool rooftop bars and swanky alfresco restaurants in Singapore, getting front-row seats to see spectacular pyrotechnic displays during major events like National Day & NYE isn’t all that difficult. Here, we round up the best lookouts in the city that provide a perfect view, and then some.

Esplanade Waterfront

This 300m long waterfront is the perfect place to catch the fireworks – and you don’t even have to fork out a single cent! Head early to score yourself a good spot; the waterfront gets really crowded during peak festive periods.

Singapore Flyer

Take to the skies on board the world’s second tallest observation wheel for scenic views of Marina Bay, the Central Business District and beyond. The only trouble is timing when it comes to jumping on board so that your trip coincides with the fireworks show.

OverEasy

Front row seats to the fireworks display with a side of mouthwatering burgers? Yes, please! Besides the killer views, OverEasy’s grub is the other thing that keeps us coming back for more. Menu highlights include the truffle burger (this American staple features wagyu beef mince slathered with house-infused truffle mayonnaise, a cheese blend of red milk cheddar, Emmental and parmesan, sautéed onions and mushrooms inside a grilled brioche bun), and the Mac & Cheeks, which uses Australian beef cheeks. We recommend making reservations waaaay in advance.
