By the looks of things, we’re not the only ones – clay-spinning workshops are popping up all over the island and ceramic studios and stores are seeing a major rise in popularity. A little bird once told us that the best restaurateurs shop their gorgeous plates from Mud Rock Ceramics. The studio-slash-store makes some of the most stunning, one-of-a-kind ceramics we’ve ever seen (and shopped!). Every single piece in the studio has been personally moulded, trimmed, glazed, fired and sanded to perfection. You won’t find similar pieces elsewhere, as glazes used are made from scratch using raw minerals to achieve colors and textures that can only be found at their studio. Currently drying on our dishracks? White glazed bowls, and the beautifully imperfect coconut plates in the lead image.

We’ve been drooling over everything from Eat and Sip for a while now. Happy and intricate, everything from Eat and Sip sparks a whole lotta joy! Jeanette Adrianne Wee
Jeanette of Adrienne Ceramics actually makes pottery cool – her ceramics are adaptations of North-Asian art forms. Her most recent works is the Sunset in Melbourne collection. These feature striking touches of orange on a blue and neutral glaze. If you’re looking for a special display piece, she’s currently accepting commissions and offering four-week pottery classes. Ohleafsg
A collab between product designers and young ceramic artists, Ohleafsg offers contemporary ceramics created using traditional techniques. Everything ceramic is found here, including decorative vases in different styles, tableware (spoons, cups and cheese boards), as well as teaware.

Huls
Amidst all the bustling restaurants and bars in Duxton Hill is a quiet gallery dedicated to fine Japanese craftsmanship. Drop by Huls for a stunning curation of crockery, boxes and other lifestyle objects that walk the line between art and functionality. Most of Huls Gallery’s collection features luxurious creations by artisans who experiment by introducing rare materials with ceramics. Think seaweed used to create designs on a kettle! Apart from ceramics, you’ll also find wooden, lacquerware and glassware here.
