If you love design, this is one event you shouldn’t miss. Organised by the Singapore Institute of Architects, the festival will celebrate its return with a new theme, ‘Small is Beautiful’, this year through various tours, exhibitions, workshops, talks and more at a new venue, the Archifest Pavilion at Dhoby Ghaut Green, and other venues across the island from the September 27 to October 13 2013.

Archifest highlights include the Archifest Conference, featuring Yoshiharu Tsukamoto of the Tokyo’s Atelier Bow-Wow, plus other local and international industry leaders.

Don’t miss the Archifest Pavilion, which will house Singapore’s first Pop-Up Design Library in collaboration with the National Library Board. You don’t have to be a bookworm to appreciate the selection of inspiring architecture and design reads, with collections curated by local creative personalities.

Other highlights of the three-week-long festival include programmes set up by the pop up School of Urban Ideas, targeted at children and families, like 3D printing workshops, design writing, seminars and much more!

The super popular Architours will also be back with three weekends of specially curated journeys. In line with the theme of ‘Small is Beautiful’, discover every nook and cranny of the best-kept built secrets in the city, from small buildings, spaces, communities or businesses. Keep your eyes peeled when more details are released because tickets sell out quick.

Fringe events this year will feature lots of new stuff, like exhibitions, film screenings, and more. A major Urban Picnic will close the festival; the Archifest Pavilion will be transformed into a picnic spot right smack in the middle of the city, and will feature Singapore’s first ever experience market! There’ll be entertainment, plus retail and F&B outlets galore.

Check out the calendar of events here.

Archifest 2013, Dhoby Ghaut Green, 10 Penang Road, Singapore 238469. Open 10am-10pm.
