HAYSTAKT

We’re suckers for well-made items and have been known to obsess over home interiors… so are we losing sleep over this new shopping platform? Yes we most definitely are – there’s just so much to buy (and too many things we want)!

Haystakt stocks original and well-designed products from independent craftsmen and designers from all over the world. It’s basically positioned itself as a makers’ marketplace, and right now our only complaint is that we want to see it all in person.

Our top picks include: Yuki Mitsuyasu, who creates and designs pieces with a hidden story; Labyrinth, a pair of siblings who produce watercolour-printed scarves (56) pretty enough to wear as art; Mink’s whale or alpaca tape dispenser (16) and the Furni oil lamp (38).

Instead of simply choosing an item just because it looks pretty, Haystakt helps you understand the process and personalities behind their products. They’ve just launched their monthly online-only publication titled The Makers’ Journal, with a focus on people, product, and process, where you can read all about designers’ outlooks on their products, and uncover the history of craft and culture.
