Fans of Bangkok’s famous Rod Fai Train Night Market, we’ve got some good news for you. Next month, Fleawhere – the folks responsible for curating some of the largest flea markets and bazaars in Singapore – is bringing you a Thai-themed market called 泰 Fantastic Thai Market, and it’s going down at the historical Tanjong Pagar Railway Station on September 12 (before it officially closes for a complete overhaul on December 26). No need to book a flight to Bangkok!
Happening on a public holiday (Selamat Hari Raya Haji!), you can check out 100 food and merchandise pop-up stalls at 泰 Fantastic Thai Market – offering beautiful handicrafts, scrumptious grub and plenty more. Our recommendations include a visit to Soi 55 where you can grab a cup of traditional Thai iced tea; stopovers at both food trucks from Kerbside Gourmet and Kombi Rocks to relish some delectable Thai street foods and more; and most definitely a detour to wouldvecouldve as well as Wild Harvest Care to get your hands on lovely Thai-inspired accessories and beauty and skincare products. And if you’ve got a little more time to spare, you might want to enjoy a few rounds of fun, ol’ school arcade games (how well do you Bishi Bashi?) as Kaisheng Concepts will be bringing in a few to the party!

Also, joining this exciting line-up are Tiosmoke (known for its interesting offerings of liquid nitrogen snacks), Snack’cy (their crispy salted egg fish skin is addictive), ourminiposhhouse (colourful, sweet macarons, anyone?), odealaviegoods (their leather handicraft items make great gifts) and lots more.
On top of that, get ready to be serenaded by live bands – creating the perfect ambience for you to eat and shop! So jot the date down and start making plans with your friends; this will probably be the last time we get a flea market like this in such a venue!
