Truth be told: We own more jewellery than you can shake a stick at. The only problem? The bulk of it are fast fashion finds designed to accessorise countless ensembles on the cheap. Low quality aside, they lack the razzle dazzle of diamond necklaces and gemstone encrusted cuffs or the intricate technique and backstories involved in making artisanal jewellery. Up the ante on your bling game – we did the legwork and sourced the best jewellery stores in Singapore, from premier jewellers to independent boutiques.

Tiffany & Co.
No other jewellery label could inspire squeals and thrills like Tiffany & Co. Known world over for its signature robin’s egg blue coloured box, the centuries-old brand spawned copycats world over with its eponymous six-prong ring setting. But Tiffany & Co. isn’t only worshipped for its engagement rings; it also offers everything from (relatively) pocket-friendly charm bracelets to diamond-dripping necklaces.
Tiffany & Co., Stores in ION Orchard, Marina Bay Sands, Raffles Hotel and Changi Airport.

Cartier
Crowned the “jeweller of kings and the king of jewellers ” by King Edward VII of England, Cartier’s creations are consistently adorned by the rich and famous; regular clientele includes Angelina Jolie, Kate Middleton and even the young Kylie Jenner. Those with cash to splash need to aquaint themselves with the French luxury goods label’s star items like the 18-karat gold Trinity collection (released in 1924) and the celeb-loved Love bracelets.
Cartier, Stores in Ngee Ann City, ION Orchard and Marina Bay Sands.

Bvlgari
Pronounced “bull-gurr-ee”, the Italian label boasts a palatial past studded with Roman roots as far back as 2700 years ago, and an elite clientele of artists, writers and actors. Fun fact: It was during the Dolce Vita years – between 1950 to 1960 – that the label achieved worldwide attention with mega stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn constantly flaunting its jewels. Today, Bvlgari for women retains its timeless appeal with its glamourous, generously decorated gemstone jewellery and stylishly audacious fine pieces.
Bvlgari, Stores in Ngee Ann City, Forum Orchard, Paragon Shopping Centre and Changi Airport.

Taula Jewellery
Think nothing says glam like a show-stopping accessory? Taula Jewellery has statement pieces on lock. Created out of a desire to make contemporary, fine jewellery accessible to more women, Taula’s wide selection of styles are designed either in-house or through partners. Precious and semi-precious gemstones – ranging from Brazillian Amethyst to Sri Lankan Topaz – are combined with high quality metal alloys, 925 Sterling Silver and Solid Gold.

Joanne L.
Since her experiment with a box of beads from Toys ‘R’ Us, Joanne L threw herself into training to be a jewellery designer, until she finally set up her eponymous label in 2012. Known for her bold and colourful designs, her jewellery pieces are timeless yet alluringly sensual, accented with gemstones like topaz, sapphire and amethyst. We can’t wait to snag the chic 18k gold plated brass cuffs for versatile accessorising and the stackable sterling rings in yellow and rose gold.

Inizi Jewellery
Meaning “beginnings” in Italian, Inizi Jewellery specialises in fine fashion jewellery. Handmade and designed by blackfragipani (AKA the talented Christine Lim), the label’s pieces are offbeat with an understated edge. Our favourites include the Rainbow Moonstone with Amethyst Sterling Silver Adjustable Necklace (it was featured in the Precious Gallery at Bijorhca Paris) and the Violetta Dichroic 14K Gold-filled Bracelet.

Carrie K.
Time to sweep all your conventional notions of jewellery out the door; they can be fun, tongue-in-cheek, and (dare we say it) rule-breaking – if these baubles in question bear the name Carrie K. The brilliant brainchild of local artisan, Carolyn Kan, this handcrafted jewellery line is strikingly conceptual with an avant-garde take on rings, bib necklaces, cuff bracelets, and earrings that make them perfectly wearable and covetable pieces for years to come.

Madly Gems
Few things make us swoon like customised jewellery – it’s a wonderful way to make your daily accessory your own. Founded by friends (radio DJ) Madley Barber and Emily Tan, Madly (a portmanteau of their names) Gems was created to transform rare, gemstones into one-of-a-kind, heirloom pieces. Here, clients are welcomed to be part of the bespoke creations; appointments with designers let you discuss your preferences and specifications. As for gemstone pieces, expect nothing less than top quality ones handled by the world’s most reputable European master cutters.
Madly Gems, Tiong Bahru at Blk 72, Seng Poh Road, #01-63, Singapore 160072.

Choo Yilin
On first sight, it’s obvious that Choo Yilin’s (top image in article) jewellery pieces are labours of love. Singapore’s only modern jade jewellery line works with handpicked Type A Burmese jadeite and vibrant-coloured semi-precious gemstones. Classic accessories are modernised here – think jade bangles with shiny floral appliqués or bespoke gemstones. We’re currently besotted with The Peranakan flower series, which features rose gold earrings and pendants inlaid with colourful birthstones and pretty pastels.
Choo Yilin, 331 Joo Chiat Road, Singapore 427587.

Pinwheels Jewels
Multi-label fashion jewellery line Pinwheels Jewels is one of our affordable faves for jaw-dropping earrings – picture diamond-studded hoops, exquisite pearl drop shoulder dusters and cascading chandelier earrings below $200. The luxe label champions intricate craftsmanship, and only works with brands (whether veteran or up-and-coming) who share similar values.

Stelliyah
Not one for ostentatious, statement pieces? Stelliyah may just be your thing. Well-known for on quality jewellery crafted with traditional metalsmith techniques, Stelliyah’s pieces aren’t your usual glam pieces – but they certainly are no less interesting. Jewellery here draws inspiration from various ethnic groups and cultures. The Nomadic collection, for instance, takes its roots from the Nomadic tribes of a Northern region of Africa. Each piece featured symbolises societal honour and strength – the Traveller’s Cross necklace for example is inspired by its origins as an heirloom piece, meant to signify the life of a nomad where one’s ashes will be scattered across the four corners of the world.
