Munich may be miles away, but Oktoberfest is no stranger to our shores. After all, we love German-everything — beer, food, soccer team, etc — and the Bavarian festival our culturally valid excuse to knock back giant steins, eat sausages, and tear apart pretzels. Here, we point you to the worthy places to do it like the Germans do. Dirndl up, dude.
Oktoberfest at Clarke Quay
Every year – for seven years now – the nightlife destination transforms its fountain square to a bustling carnival, complete with a vibrant canopy, German flag liners and servers dressed in Bavarian costumes. Popular dining spots like Alegro, Catch Beer&batter, Fern & Kiwi, Harry’s, McGettigan’s and The Pumproom are setting up food kiosks on the festival ground, so carnivores can expect to feast on hearty, mouth-watering plates like crispy pork knuckle, beer pulled pork and sauerkraut sliders, braised sausages, pan-fried meat loaf and homemade beef balls, alongside Erdinger beers of course. Vouchers and Erdinger premiums are also up for grabs! Read more here.
