Spin bikes are our go-to equipment in gyms – they torch just as many calories as running, but places far less impact on our joints. So when indoor cycling boutiques started popping up around town late last year, we were thrilled. Today, there are four major spin studios in Singapore, with one of them being an aqua spinning specialist. Break a sweat and cycle away to high-pumping music at these trendy spin studios in Singapore.
CruCycle
Inspired by wolves, CruCycle is all about togetherness, positivity and teamwork. Founders Calvin, Beatrice and Valerie are firm believers that there’s strength in numbers, encouraging new and seasoned spinners to “ride with the pack”. The studio is even illuminated with deep blue light, perfect for feeling like you’re riding under the full moon. Each spin session lasts for 50 minutes and it’s far from your average cycle. The dynamic, full-body workout incorporates dance, dumbbell and abdominal exercises throughout the ride that’s sure to fry calories. The uninitiated can go for their beginner classes, which covers all the basic moves and exercises routines. Once you feel ready, sign up for “Ride with the Pack”, which is open to all levels. Every rider is also provided with specialised shoes, towels and even a CruCycle headband to help you channel your inner big, bad wolf.

7 Cycle on Boon Tat Street
7 Cycle
Shake up your spin routine with 7Cycle’s unique bootcamp: instead of just incorporating hand weights during your spin, the 35-minute sesh also boasts off-bike HIIT training exercises involving push-ups, kettle bell and heavy ropes training – you will definitely wake up with aching muscles the next day. The classes are also kept small, so you’ll get the attention you need from the instructors.

Anthem
The newest studio to join the upbeat spinning scene, Anthem ranks top in terms of facilities – the locker room is spacious with plenty of showers that boast belif products; and the welcoming reception is stocked with magazines to accompany you as you wait for class. Those with a competitive spirit will love that Anthem displays everyone’s speed, resistance, and calories burned on a screen in front of the class. This is so cyclists will be motivated to push themselves harder and not fall behind. Of course, if you’re new and albeit nervous to show your stats to the world, you can simply opt out of this feature.

Aquaspin
Have a bad knee? Try spinning under water; aqua spinning is gentler on your joints and actually makes for a great recovery workout. But that doesn’t mean you won’t burn as much calories as compared to dry spinning classes. In fact, because of the water resistance, you will actually loose about 800+ calories in a session. Plus, studies have shown that spinning under water can also break down cellulite as well as reduce the risk of ugly varicose veins – sign us up!
