This goes out to all art lovers and history buffs; this weekend will be an exciting one, for sure! After one year hiatus, National Museum of Singapore is finally re-opening its permanent galleries on September 19!

This time around, the permanent galleries include the Singapore History Gallery, the Life in Singapore: The Past 100 Years galleries and the Goh Seng Choo Gallery. These galleries will walk you down memory lane, reminiscing Singapore’s history, going all way back to pre-colonial period and moving forward to modern Singapore era. These galleries are also curated in an innovative manner that will most definitely excite your senses while engaging your mind thoroughly. Be prepared for an immersive and interactive museum visit experience ever! It might take you awhile to walk through the entire permanent galleries.

To commemorate this joyous occasion, National Museum has organised a fun-filled Opening Weekend Carnival throughout this weekend (on September 19-20); There will be food stalls, special guided tours and an interesting recital of Teochew folk poems.
