Meet adrenaline junkies Yuey Tan and Claire Jedrek

Local motor racing drivers Yuey and Claire are not ones to rest on their laurels. Not only have they done Singapore proud with podium finishes at races worldwide (including the recent Malaysian Grand Prix, where Claire came in second as the only female driver), Yuey is the man behind new karting track The Karting Arena, and Claire is a sports and fitness presenter. They tell us what they love about home, and their favourite spots around the city.
Singapore’s best-kept secret… is this hidden vintage furniture store at Bukit Timah called Junkie’s Corner, which we stumbled upon while taking a wrong turn.
In our downtime… we love heading outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle. Picotin Bistro & Bar, nestled in the hills of Bukit Timah, offers a lovely refuge, and they serve a mean pesto pasta. For amazing eggs Benedict, you have to visit the quaint restaurant Choupinette!
For a spot of nature in this concrete jungle… take a walk on the Henderson Waves Bridge, which is lovely for sights and views. Dempsey Hill is also a great place to have a meal among the greenery. Speaking of food, Arab Street is wicked for its curious shops, quirky cafes, and local food.
Yuey is… the first Singaporean to have won the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, the support race just before the F1, for his class. He will also be flying the flag in the same race this year!
Bet you didn’t know… that there is a secret underground connection F1 drivers use to get around the Marina Bay Circuit!
We are proud to… represent Singapore in the motorsport arena and help put our little island on the map. We also work with amazing local businesses to create more awareness in the sport.
There are so many opportunities… to explore and dictate your own life in Singapore. Here is a country that looks after its people and has our best interests at heart. There is one-degree of separation here, so networking and getting to know people and businesses is extremely easy.
The sporting scene in Singapore… has exploded in the last two years, and people are branching out to more alternative sports and making it a career – something that was unheard of before.
If you’re seeking an adrenaline rush… head to Wave House Sentosa for some flowriding action, or iFly Singapore to try indoor skydiving.
