Cheap drinks and ladies’ nights shouldn’t be the only reasons to hit up a great bar. Sometimes, the food that emerge from the kitchen are on par with the excellent alcohol offerings. Case in point: Copper, one of the latest additions to Keong Saik’s hip little dining enclave that gives you, well, the best of both worlds.

What we love about this gin-focused bar is the space; so intimate (most tables are perfect for just two people) that it’s date night-worthy. We’re also digging the steampunk-inspired décor and the quirky little bits of knick-knacks found on the shelves.

Sisig crostini with foie gras

Take one look at the menu and you’ll see these folks takes its grub very seriously. You won’t find the usual suspects like chicken wings and fries here – instead, items like crispy pig’s ears and veal sweetbread nuggets are on offer. Our favourites? The tender lamb kaftas with harissa mayonnaise, the flavourful babi guling tacos (warning: these babies are spicy!), the sisig crostini (made extra decadent with the addition of foie gras), and Copper’s signature Angus beef meatballs, which come slathered with grape jelly passata. Got room for one more dish? Please order the duck and waffle creation.

Choose from a variety of gin options

There are a ton of gin choices to choose from (Fords, Death’s Door, Sipsmith) so take your pick and let the bartenders craft something for you. Or, you could always opt for Negroni on tap – which comes in four variations.

Need a full meal? There’s an omakase-style restaurant on the second floor, where exotic meats like rabbit and pigeon are served.

Copper, 10 Jiak Chuan Road, Singapore 089264, p. 6222 5565. Mon-Wed 6pm-12am, Thu-Sat 6pm-3am. Closed Sun.
