Can you really say no to ice cream? Parlours specialising in the sweet treat – and its classic and whacky flavours – are aplenty in Singapore (it’s getting harder to keep track of the newcomers as the days go by), but truly solid contenders are far and few between. Be a discerning ice cream enthusiast and drop by these spots for 100 percent satisfaction.
The Daily Scoop
The Daily Scoop takes pride in the fact that their ice cream’s made from local ingredients and seasonal fresh fruits. Choices like lychee martini, chunky peanut butter, and Thai chai are on offer, but if you’re eyeing something in particular, call ahead to check that the flavour’s available as the menu rotates on a weekly basis.
The Daily Scoop, #01-78 Chip Bee Gardens, 43 Jalan Merah Saga, Singapore 278115, p. 6475 3128.
HoneyCreme
By now you would’ve definitely heard about the soft serve craze going on. If you have to choose one, pick HoneyCreme and their milky, oh-so-creamy offerings. Try the Honey Creme Organic Cotton Candy Affogato for that extra sugar rush; the cotton candy ice cream cup has espresso poured over it, then crowned with another layer of cotton candy. Or, keep things simple and go for the Honey Comb.

+39 Gelato Bar
+39 Gelato Bar
Super smooth gelato (made fresh daily) takes centre stage at this new outlet on Circular Road. There are eight flavours to choose from; not all are permanent offerings, so you’d have to drop by to see what’s available for the day. There have been some pretty interesting ones (guacamole and mashed potato, anyone?), but favourites like dark chocolate and raspberry are on offer as well.
+39 Gelato Bar, 29 Circular Road, Singapore 049385, p. 6532 0380.
Tom’s Palette
Feeling adventurous? Tom’s Palette does the most unusual flavours, from salted egg yolk to lavender (a must-try) and even… onion. They actually aim to create one brand new flavour each month! If you like, sign up for some hands-on fun at their weekly ice cream making lessons.
Tom’s Palette, #01-25 Shaw Tower, 100 Beach Road, Singapore 189702, p. 6296 5239.
Seriously Ice Cream
Tired of cookie-cutter flavours like salted caramel or dark chocolate? Seriously Ice Cream offers original flavours like miso gula melaka. Good news for health-conscious folks: the ice cream here contains no stabilisers, preservatives and gum. Plus, it has less sugar.

Island Creamery
Island Creamery
Island Creamery was established by Stanley Kwok back in 2004 and is one of the pioneers of the homemade ice cream scene here in Singapore. We’re digging their range of locally inspired flavours, from teh tarik to pineapple tart and Horlicks.

320 Below
For an ice cream parlour with an X factor, there’s 320 Below – Singapore’s first nitro cream cafe. Using blasts of nitrogen gas and natural ingredients, the ice cream (or sorbet, or yogurt – your choice) is made right in front of you. What you get is a refreshingly light dessert, nothing too heavy or rich. There are a ton of flavours to choose from, so check the blackboard for what’s available.

The Ice Cream & Cookie Co.
The Ice Cream & Cookie Co.
Know what’s even better than ice cream? An ice cream cookie sandwich. The makers behind this brilliant combo offer flavours like apple pie (cinnamon sugar cookies with apple pie ice cream), English earl (lemon zest cookies with earl grey tea ice cream), and our personal favourite, butterscotch bacon (brown sugar cookies with butterscotch bacon ice cream). The Ice Cream & Cookie Co. is currently online, but you can pick up their ice cream cookie sandwiches at spots like Cat Cafe Neko No Niwa and Wildfire Kitchen + Bar.
