When we first saw pictures of Angie’s beautiful Bali wedding, we had a brief minute where our senses went into overdrive. After that we frantically started pinning away photos – and we weren’t the only ones, this wedding has since gone viral!

Of course since Angie is the visionary behind Fred Lives Here, a furniture store in Singapore, the beautiful decor was probably right up there on her list of priorities, but a dinner table with 1000 naked lightbulbs hanging overhead? You have to see it to believe it.

Where were you married and why Bali?
We got married at the Khayangnan Estate in Uluwatu. It was the most incredible venue that we had ever seen – absolutely fell in love with it from the second we arrived to walk through the grounds. Plus – the bridal suite was the size of a house with a bath in the middle of a lily pond – can’t go wrong with that!

Love that dress, Angie! Who designed it?
My gown was from Jenny Packham. It was amazing, and is now mostly black. Sign of a good party!

Where are the bridesmaids’ dresses from?
The dresses were teal and were a design that I had made. Each bridesmaid lived in a different country, so I chose a style that I thought would look awesome on any body type. My husband had the guys’ smoking jackets etc. tailor-made also. We went for a black tie wedding – so everyone dressed in long dresses, men in tuxedos.

Describe the inspiration behind your wedding. Could you please walk us through that decor – we adore those lights and the chairs!
We went with white, cream, black, copper, and teal for the overall colour palette. We decided to go for a more industrial look – making 8 foot tall letters with light bulbs, and suspending an extra thousand bulbs over 2 long wedding tables. The chairs were old industrial chairs that went with the wooden table tops that were then covered in lightbulbs and wires. There was no real inspiration – just a love for old, vintagey light!

Who did you call on for help?
My husband and I looove nothing more than planning parties – so we came up with nearly every detail ourselves. We basically just went for things that we had never seen done before. We had a friend sing at our wedding, who was incredible. We also hired drummers and electric violinists to play with the DJ. That was awesome.

How many times did you visit Bali before the wedding?
We went twice for wedding planning, but go all the time just for fun, so we were super familiar with what was on offer. We actually did 4 days of events, Day 1 was a cocktail afternoon/ evening, Day 2 was a Jimbaran beach BBQ, Day 3 was the wedding, Day 4 was an 80′s neon club Tropicana fancy dress party.

Any words of wisdom for brides-to-be?
If you’re getting married in Bali, hire Sure from Vision 1! She was the most amazing vendor at the wedding – she agreed to the lightbulbs and making the structure from scratch despite it having never been done before. She really helped to make all of our crazy ideas come alive.

If you could do it all again is there anything you would do differently?
Hmmm… not much. I had an incredible few days, and any little bits that went wrong didn’t impact the overall experience, so we just had loads of fun and basically wish we could make it annual!

Thanks, Angie & Ben!
