How apt: art gallery iPreciation is starting the new year (also Singapore’s 50th anniversary) with a group photography exhibition that showcases the contemporary works of four Singaporean artists – namely Chris Yap, Wee Kheng-Li, Wang Ruobing and Sai Hua Kuan.
Focusing on the poetics of space and place, tensions of history and modernity, these artists bring to attention the interesting observations of the streets in Singapore and Asia, including Japan, Indonesia and China, where each scene becomes an anthropological and cultural space.
Artist-photographers are few and far between in Singapore and Southeast Asia, so this group exhibition comes as a rare opportunity for visitors to delve into the artistic ideas and dialogues from local contemporary fine arts photography scene.
